The JiscMail Service is now back to normal operation. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused over the last couple of weeks. Full report at https://t.co/WIGOYdLDm4
@ed_mcdonagh Hi Ed. Could you forward the details (including the name of the list you're trying to post to) to [email protected], quoting "Ongoing JiscMail Issues" in the subject please?
@JoBrodie@psci_com Thanks Jo. We believe that posts submitted via the web interface are working now - We just need a few more people to confirm it, before we announce it more widely.
Update: What a nightmare! Whilst some messages appear to be getting through, a large number of users are still receiving "rejected" notifications. We're continuing to work with the software vendors, and will provide more info as we get it.
Update: The software vendors have informed us that things are returning to normal, and that they will continue to monitor things over the weekend. We'll continue to monitor our mailboxes, and will provide updates where appropriate. Thank you for your continued understanding.
Update: We've recently identified a secondary issue causing some mail servers to repeatedly retry sending posts to JM, in turn causing our servers to send numerous "Rejected duplicate post" reports. We are working to resolve the issue and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
@nicolelawox Hi Nicole. If your list has archives, please check to see if your message is listed. If not, and you haven't received any error messages (don't forget to check your junk folder!), please retry and/or email [email protected] for the team to look into it.
@JoBrodie Hi Jo. We were able to differentiate those who'd been auto-unsubbed from those who'd done it manually, and only re-added the former. Please let us know if you spot any anomalies. (PS. Thanks for keeping your subs in the loop!)
@BRWMcMillan Hi Brian. Could you forward a copy of the report to [email protected] please? The team are busy working their way through the backlog of tickets but will investigate and get back to you ASAP. Thanks.
Update: The root cause of the deliverability issues has been identified and corrected, however a number of users may have found themselves unsubscribed from their selected lists. We're working hard to get this rectified, and more info will follow shortly.
Service Disruption: We are currently experiencing difficulties in delivering email messages to some recipients and are investigating as a priority. List archives are unaffected. More to follow.
Heads-up: JiscMail will be undergoing essential maintenance on Wednesday, 25 May 2022, between 10pm and 11pm BST. During this time, some functionality will be limited / unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The JiscMail service is now operating normally.
