A lot of people keep saying this was purely Heeseung’s decision and yes, that’s partly true. But what many fail to acknowledge is that the other six members had choices too. They were all presented with a direction for ENHYPEN, one deeply tied to their branding, image, and even their music, which is closely connected to their lore and trend-driven releases. That direction simply didn’t align with Heeseung’s artistic vision but the other six are on board with Belift.
As he said himself, he didn’t want to be “difficult” ( something like that) if everyone else (the company and the six members) shared the same path while he stood alone with a different perspective. And if you’ve followed Heeseung since I-LAND, you’d know this about him: he has always been someone who steps back, lets others choose first, and rarely puts himself ahead of the group. But there’s a limit to that. He was doing that for more than 6 yrs since I-land!
When you constantly give, while something that keeps you alive like your passion, your artistry is being suppressed, eventually you reach a breaking point. There comes a moment when you realize you can’t keep compromising yourself, and you choose to let go and follow what your heart truly wants.
Many people struggle to accept this because, realistically, most of us would choose security (fame, money, stability) over passion. That’s why it’s so hard to believe that someone like Heeseung would walk away from all of that.
I’m not saying this was entirely his decision. But I do believe he made an incredibly difficult choice because it was the only path available for him to continue as a genuine artist.! And that alone deserves RESPECT!
