One company.
One problem that keeps getting more urgent—water.

When I joined @smarterhomes02 water was largely invisible in urban homes. No data. No accountability.
No urgency.
A decade later, I’ve seen how simply measuring water can change behaviour, conversations, and outcomes.

These 10 years have meant wearing many hats—sales, operations, marketing, execution, firefighting, and learning the hard way. Building solutions on paper is easy; building them on ground, across hundreds of communities, is what truly teaches you resilience.

What stayed constant through it all was the belief that water deserves to be treated as a managed, measurable resource—not an afterthought.

Grateful to the team, partners, housing communities, and everyone who believed that smart water metering could become a category of its own in India.

The journey continues.

Because when it comes to water, we are still just getting started.

Drivers:
- Declining borewell yield
- Limited Cauvery allocation
- Rising occupancy

But most buildings still lack apartment-level water visibility. So consumption remains unmanaged.

Where measurement is introduced:
- Usage drops
- Leak detection improves
- Tanker growth stabilizes

Urban housing water resilience will depend less on new sources — and more on internal efficiency.

Pune may soon face water supply cuts as the Water Resources Department has warned the Pune Municipal Corporation about falling water levels in dams. The alert comes amid concerns over reduced water storage and rising demand in the city.

Baramati MP Supriya Sule has written a letter directly to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, urging immediate action to prevent a possible water crisis. She has asked the government to ensure proper planning and management so that citizens do not face severe shortages in the coming months.

Authorities have advised the civic body to plan water usage carefully and take preventive measures. If water levels continue to drop, supply cuts may be implemented in the city.
