@tsantero@Razer@LambdaAPI I'm sorry for your loss. 😬
What brand and model was it? How long did it take to fail? Did it fail any SMART check before dying?
Hey friends! It’s rough out there, looking for a job. If you hear of anything, please let me know. I’ve also been chatting with a TON of folks, so if you’re looking, let me know and maybe I can help you out, in the meantime.
My company BlockFi is very much hiring software engineers. If you're an Erlang/Elixir person - or an FP person that's interested - hit me up!
We're doing fun stuff, we're Good Peoples, and yes, we're remote.
Our Series B round - a scant 6 months after our Series A 🙌.
(Also, I'm looking for Erlang / Elixir folks in Argentina, Poland, and NYC. If you're interested, ping me!)

@TheErlef It was 2006 and I was working on a Java-based VoIP PBX with @dieswaytoofast. We were having scalability issues and built 3 prototypes to replace it. One was in Erlang, which performed much better than the other options. I had been looking for it for a long time without knowing.
@FrancescoC@joeerl When I discovered #erlang several years ago I had been looking for it for a long time without knowing it. I never met @joeerl in person, but I'm deeply thankful for his contributions. He left the world better than he found it. #rememberingjoe
@sasajuric I've used the Dell XPS 15 9560 and 9570 with Ubuntu and Arch without major issues (though I replaced the Killer WiFi card with an Intel one). Do not buy a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme. It had issues with Linux and was too easy to brick by changing settings in the BIOS.
