Will Metformin become like a vitamin to take?
Of course, I'm exaggerating, but studies have shown that it has enormous potential in many positive health benefits.
Now the authors plan to raise US$50 million to study the drug in a trial of 3,000 people. https://t.co/87vvGiwK4C
@Berci Completely agree w you. One of the safest and most widely beneficial meds we have. For weight loss specifically, it’s been show to benefit those who don’t even have insulin resistance. It’s a shame that patients harbor myths about it (#1 being that it hurts the kidneys)
Re: Tua
It’s so crazy how a lot of men can respect another man’s decision to choose what’s best for his body.
But let it be a woman telling you she wants to be able to choose what’s best for her body and now a lot of those same men wanna get upset.
The irony is crazy.
@AnthemBCBS you are payer for ~5% of my patients, but make up majority of my order denials. Last time it was a liver scan (I fought for it, we detected liver cancer). Now it’s a chest scan in a smoker with clubbing. How can you live with yourselves?!? This shouldn’t require P2P
New level stupidity of U.S. healthcare system:
Doc sends rx for 3 days of antibiotic
Insurer declines; will pay for 4+ days but not less
Pharmacist calls me to get my approval to dispense 4 days worth and tell patient to discard the rest.
#MEDICALWASTE#WHATAREWEDOING?!?!?!
@BevTchangMD This is so frustrating.
My spin on it these days: overbook the patient for a visit (which insurance will have to pay for) to re-chart weight. It’s ridiculous but gotta stick it to them somehow. If we all do this maybe they’ll realize just paying for the med saves them money
