I love Edinburgh's old graveyards, and here, with a geeky legal twist, is what must be the smallest public one in the city: John Livingston's tomb in Chamberlain Road, well worth a short visit in the sunshine. #mementomori#greenhill#bruntsfield (thread 1:4)
@SilenceInPolish Gylippus, sent by Sparta to aid Syracuse against the Athenians (with whom Sparta was formally at peace) in 414 BC. Later exiled for embezzlement.

@ForWomenScot If parties/interveners won't publish their submissions themselves, and I trust you've asked them (?), you need to ask the Court itself for an order: unlike the Court of Session, it has such a power https://t.co/GyRwn1KkV0

“There is a national tide against us & having been elected on a national tide that was for us, I have to accept those results.” I wrote about the election in Scotland thro’ the prism of Glasgow South West for the @LRB, following the candidates & campaign. https://t.co/WONlnLGrOa
@libby_brooks This appeal is actually against the Inner House decision, for which see https://t.co/x0kkhvsAbx , which unanimously upheld the earlier decision you refer to as ‘Lady Haldane’s ruling’ ; I’m struck by how much of the discussion unhelpfully ignores what the Inner House wrote.

When I was a young advocate, this sort of evidence from witnesses (usually not quite as dopey as they claimed they were) was sometimes tagged 'non mi ricordo' in homage to the trial of Queen Caroline in 1820 where this was one witness's answer over 200 times. Nothing changes!
Here's a running thread of all the things the current Prime Minister cannot recall whilst under oath at the Covid Inquiry.

After an amorous encounter resulted in the theft of his clothes, Irish barrister Richard Tucker had to think quickly if he was to arrive in court in time to represent his client. The course of action adopted got him there all right - as the accused! Read: https://t.co/c21tDBHJnV
@BrianDr1960@NeilBriogaisean@PresidentSsc@RoddyQC@Broonjunior ‘Checked’. This seems to be a document in the course of proofreading , see next photo, where someone (‘N.L.’, ?)has made typographical corrections. The next rewrite by the printer would incorporate these, and leave out changes such as ‘X _d’ which won’t be in the final print.
