I had Long Covid for almost a year suffering from severe exhaustion, massive nonstop headaches, racing heart, brain fog and stuttering, hair loss, among many other symptoms. I felt like I had an autoimmune disease that was attacking my brain and body.
Told it's just anxiety, menopause, or stress? It's not in your head. Vera maps what's actually dysregulated — and the way forward. https://t.co/yDB0pgnJ4q #LongCovid#Dysautonomia
Long COVID took me down 4 times. I recovered each time with a protocol I built when no doctor could help. It's now an AI coach, Vera. https://t.co/tkztghLpro #LongCovid#MECFS
@Lotus_Peace That's a great question. I think it depends on the individual and their sensitivity to nightshade plants.
With LC you often have a malfunctioning immune system which can cause an autoimmune-like reaction. Yet for me, I found that ashwagandha helped relieve those very symptoms.
Can a tonic herb used for centuries in #Ayurveda in India help with #LongCovid recovery? A trial is monitoring efficacy of #Ashwagandha treatment in over 2,000 people with long #COVID living in the UK.

@maybemoremooney@WesElyMD@VinGuptaMD I was one who had the original Covid in November 2020, which left me with disabling Long Covid for 11 months. When I took the Moderna vaccine in March & April, it had no effect on my condition.
I am now fully recovered with no lasting neurological issues at all.
Covid-19 Spike Protein accumulates in the skull and brain according to this new research.
I believe this is why so many of us develop #LongCovid after initiallly recovering from a Covid infection.

@Mormolykeia@D_Bone Covid often damages the immune system. It destroys or weakens Dentritic cells and T cells.
It also dematures B cells, which store information of previous infections you've had such as flus or colds. Dematures means it erases that knowledge. B cells tell T cells what to attack.
@space_titties @ExtraGranola @lmrlmrlmr I'm not sure what the equivalent infusion amount is because I didn't do that.
I took oral Nicotinamide Riboside (300 mg per day) along with pterostilbene (50 mg per day) for 12 weeks.
Covid has also been shown to deplete CoQ10 and Tryptophan, so replenishing those can help.
@emilyesfraser This is great! Jessica Wildfire is amazing! We need exposure to MICROBES, which is not the same as exposure to PATHOGENS. Good luck.

@tquant2@AaronCa11 Massive headaches, nonstop exhaustion, brain fog, weird chest pains and lung burn, hair loss, bad stuttering, depression, & anxiety.
I also had neuropathy in my hands, high blood pressure, a racing heart beat, & I would feel like I was going to faint when I got up too fast.
@AaronCa11 Repairing my immune system was critical in my Long Covid recovery.
While I didn't have access to immunoglobulin, I researched several compounds on NIH's PubMed library that also repair the immune system.
I took Astragalus Root & seven mushrooms for 12 weeks, with antivirals.
@mrsflower70 Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme central to energy metabolism & can affect many key cellular functions, including metabolic pathways, DNA repair, cellular regrowth and immune cell function. https://t.co/NM6WdMhJh0
Neuroimaging study reveals significant brain changes in areas associated with language comprehension, cognition, and circadian rhythm control six months after COVID-19 infection.

In this graphic I've boiled down what I believe is the root cause of #LongCovid, which is the dual problem of a malfunctioning immune system degraded by remaining virus protein traces (spike and nucleocapsid).
I was only able to fully recover once I totally addressed both issues
1/🧵 Our cell’s genes are rewired in MILD COVID 🧬
Stunning data in @Nature
White Cells (monocytes) switch gene expression from an established innate immune profile to a pro-clotting signature in COVID.
We’re immunocompromised.
Let’s unpack this…
