@JasonKander Interesting they told you that…the gas they pump in is external to the GI tract and basically absorbs (CO2), burps and farts will occur naturally. May have some ileus depending on what surgery which will increase belching which is probably what is going on. (Gen surgeon)
@toyotahunter93 Yes, general surgeon…just today I recommended non-op treatment for a patient. I think we will see more people choose that route in the future. Lap appys are very safe and you can be home in a few hours, but it’s still a surgery with risks and recovery.
@toyotahunter93 Absolutely a valid option. I still lean toward surgical treatment for most people but depending on situation and patient preference (knowing there’s a chance of recurrence) it’s never a bad thing to avoid surgery.
