We will continue our race in TN-5, no matter what trick they have up their sleeve next!
To Andy Ogles & anyone else trying to silence the voices of Tennessee, I’ve got news for you. That’s not how we do things. They changed the maps but my desire to serve TN-5 hasn’t. Let’s go!
UPDATE: When I entered this race, I made a promise to the voters of my home state of Tennessee that I would always fight for them. And, I will always fight for what is right. Full statement below ⬇️
Taking a time out from a very important game of dominoes to bring you this breaking news: PLEASE VOTE! Head to https://t.co/XInLzEHVDB to register to vote or check your voter registration status.

The @DemConvention has time for Leon Panetta but not the TN3 who brought national attention to the death of democracy in southern red states?? Ridiculous.
I just came here to tell y’all to donate to Black and Brown orgs. In the last month we’ve knocked on 2000+ doors. We’re projected to have close to 75k convos on the doors this cycle. Our work is strategic and centering directly impacted communities @EquityAlliance1@tnimmigrant

This is a special one. Beyond grateful for the support our campaign has received, especially from my mother. Para mi madre - te mereces el mundo. ¡Vamos con ganas!

Today: @HillaryClinton calls out protests at @Columbia.
“You just have to ask yourself, how you could have an event on using rape as a tactic of war against women and girls…and you include the most recent horrendous example out of Israel—and that brings out the protestors.”
An important and tragic read. The reports on Oct 7 continue to get more clear and more heartbreaking. What would the US have done if this had happened here?

🧵I’ve spent most of my adult life in Louisiana, and it’s home. Unfortunately, it’s not where my family is—and that distance from family has started to really hurt.
Chattanooga is home for my nieces. They love it. Mayor Kelly’s vision for One Chattanooga will make it even better
Israel is not systematically eradicating a race and it is DEEPLY offensive for people to use the word genocide, which was created in 1944 to describe what Hitler was doing to Jews in Poland, to describe the situation in Gaza. Language matters. 10/end
One last and important thought:
It is inappropriate and offensive to use the word "genocide" to describe what is happening in Gaza. Israel was the victim of a brutal, abhorrent terrorist attack and is completely in its right to track down the terrorists and hostages. 9/x
Palestinians deserve their own country and the ability to self-govern. Israel cannot live in fear of attack from a neighboring country. Security is paramount and a Hamas-led Palestine is a non-starter. 7/x
But all of this goes back to my original question, how does this mess end?
Jews have been in Israel for thousands of years, it is our homeland. It is a holy land for many religions and should be shared and loved by all. 6/x
Neighboring Muslim countries are also refusing to accept Palestinian refugees. Where is the outrage against Egypt? But regardless, this is the situation we're in so it is Israel's responsibility to minimize civilian deaths, which means stop the bombings. 5/x
Political folks: here's an interesting Instagram thread on some Palestinian polling. The source dataset is here: https://t.co/ETURvYRYZl
My question: How do we get out of this situation?

1/x
Yes, Hamas is full of cowards fighting in a cowardly way by hiding amongst civilians, but the answer isn't to blow them up and the civilians around them. Israel needs to stop the bombing campaigns. You can't tell 2 million people to move south and then bomb them in the south. 4/x
I've thought a lot about the conflict over the past few weeks and a few things are clear to me:
1. Israel is clearly losing the media war.
2. Netanyahu has to go- someone who depends on a continued conflict to hold onto power has no business being in power.
3/x
Most (but somehow not all) people agree that Hamas has to go. But the PA is deeply unpopular. So if a Palestinian state were created today, who would lead it? Who keeps Hamas from continuing to use propaganda to steal resources from their people and attack Israel instead? 2/x
