My advice for young professionals?
Move to DC. Live in the group row home. Build the work wardrobe. Find the free happy hours. Say yes. Walk around mall at night. Take the metro. Chill in Logan Circle. Be a menace in AdMo/U Street.
Move to DC in your early career. No regrets.
"We gather due to a selfish man's injured pride. And the outrage of supporters who he has deliberately misinformed for the past two months - and stirred to action this very morning. What happened...was an insurrection, incited by the President of the United States."

Will take decades before American officials talk with foreign officials about importance of free and fair elections peaceful transfer of power without having the horrors of January 6th thrown back in their faces.
January 6th will join 9/11 and Dec 7th as days that live in infamy.
A great piece providing one of the best analysis of what motivated TR's president to convert Hagia Sofia back to a mosque & without any mention of the legacy & significance of the Lausanne Treaty adopted on the same day in 1923: https://t.co/S0u6Exws3e
Fiona Hill: "China should be the skunk at everybody’s party. They don’t want to take responsibility for letting a localized virus become a global pandemic. And now with the US in a prostrate position, they can step in and take on a leader’s role." https://t.co/VEhBHFRp99
37 new positive cases in Washington DC brings total to 304 individuals. 4 Deaths. 23 of the 37 new cases younger than 40 yrs. 157 @DCPoliceDept & 120 @dcfireems quarantined. #coronavirus@nbcwashington
Want to see the true potential impact of ignoring social distancing? Through a partnership with @xmodesocial, we analyzed secondary locations of anonymized mobile devices that were active at a single Ft. Lauderdale beach during spring break. This is where they went across the US:
1. A quick tweet storm on how cities & communities need to plan for safely reopening as well as for frontline health mobilization to beat the virus. Based on our report published by @BrookingsMetro yesterday.: https://t.co/e7If2L6mYz
How 🇨🇳 is winning hearts & minds in Europe amid #Covid_19 crisis: a medical supplies cargo just arrived in Athens, wrapped with a quote from Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics (‘friendship is one soul dwelling in two bodies’). This is not without political consequences for the future
Incredibly troubling if Palestinian reports of #COVIDー19 in the Gaza Strip are true. Incredibly high population density & I can’t think of a hospital system less prepared for this right now: https://t.co/M1SuE1R810
My new piece in @TheAtlantic is out today:
The Chinese regime *is* to blame, and we shouldn't be coy about saying so. To say that this is racism is absurd. A regime is not a race
