I believe in the right of the state of Israel to exist. therefore I am a Zionist, therefore, according to @TheGreenParty I am a racist. I will keep to myself what I think they are, but electorally they’re toast.
I agree with Howard Jacobson.
I am not a Jew, but simply cannot understand the levels of hatred sustained by some humans to their fellow humans. I understand that extreme religion drives some of this animosity, but what about the rest? It’s unconscionable bigotry in which the existence of Israel is used as an excuse for rampant antisemitism. People will - and do - believe any lie in pursuit of this hatred.

One probable scenario tomorrow is that Zionism is Racism passes and passes convincingly. The proposers are well organised, determined and well-placed to face down sabotage tactics that worked against them earlier in the year. Manipulation of that sort will be much harder to achieve at an in-person conference than it was at an online one.
Passing the motion will have a number of immediate political consequences. The Green Party will be branded, with justification, as the Antisemitic Party - hostile to Jews in wider society and within its own party (several reasonable amendments put by Jewish members were not admitted). Think Corbyn years squared.
A further consequence is significant damage to our political credibility, bleeding through to the ballot box, including the Holborn by-election next Thursday. I believe it is realisation of this liability that led Polanski to push for conference to be cancelled (so much for internal democracy) and for Lucas and Ramsay too late in the day to ventilate their concerns about the motion.
What this means is potentially existential for both the Party and Polanski. He is already being presented as a betrayer, but those arguing against the motion motivated by avoidance of negative news stories or adverse electoral impact demonstrate that their priorities lie not with anti-discrimination in all it forms. Rather they are selective and only care when it suits them and for optics alone, ie. they don't really care. The hostile environment for gender critical members is being extended to Jews of the wrong sort.
If the motion passes, this will be another sad day for the Green Party and its descent into authoritarianism. One of the biggest recurring themes of my seminar series today was how desperately menbers felt they need a space to speak freely and think aloud. It is hostility to free speech that lies at the heart of the Green Party's institutional dysfunction.
For a political party which increasingly enjoys power, this represents an actual danger to society, and danger to Jews.
The only consolation I can think of is forewarned is forearmed. Other things being equal I think it is better for us to see clearly what the party has become instead of concealing that. Transparency is an important democratic principle.
I’ve got a message for British Jews.
Tomorrow is the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street.
In 1936, those who hate Jews came to a Jewish area to intimidate and threaten us, and Jews and allies stood together and said no.
Nearly a century later and today’s incarnation of Jew-haters, the ‘anti-zionists’, are seeking to deny our very history, and deny our presence.
Just as our forebears took a stand, we also have to be there to say no.
With our community facing an existential threat these last few years, I’ve been heartened and dismayed by the varied reaction I’ve seen from British Jews.
Many have rallied, and when the antisemites came to Finchley and Edgware, we took to the streets as they had in the East End and said no. With the rise in attacks on Jews in the aftermath of the Oct 7th pogrom, we came from all over the UK to Central London to say no.
But many have kept their heads in the sand, and many of those who do recognise how close we are to the brink will only do something when the conditions are totally safe.
I get it. Standing up to those who want our destruction is scary. I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. I hope it will be a peaceful, respectful event where we can safely pay tribute to those brave Jews and allies who made a difference at a pivotal moment.
This is another pivotal moment.
Jew-haters do not want us there, which is exactly why we must turn up. It’s Shabbat so many will have their phones off today. For those observing, tomorrow is still Simchat Torah. But for those who can and are willing, this is the time to stand and be counted. This is the time to be brave for your community and our place in this country. Our allies can’t and shouldn’t have to carry this burden alone.
Simply put, it is vital we stand up for past of British Jews, if we want to have a future as British Jews.
Please share. Please be there.

Sir Simon Schama on Ed Miliband: “Any foreign secretary who went out of his way to shake the hand of the foreign minister of the Republic of Iran, whose regime murdered 40,000 people, has not got the authority to sermonise about anything, ever again!”
https://t.co/YQvaR7Hzwq
Their protest began as an attack on Digital ID but within minutes people were throwing accusations of baby killers, saying there are "600,000" dead, and then a declaration that Gaza is "worse than the Holocaust" and the Nazis "killed fewer children".
Anti-Semitism is now a convuluted cesspit that aligns conspiracy theorists, bigots, anti-Israel propagandists and Islamists.
It is a fight we all must confront, Jew, non-Jew, Israeli and Brit.
However angry I feel about Labour's self-serving conduct on Middle East policy, it's dwarfed by my disgust towards fascistic liars like this prick Chikli. No, Shabana Mahmood is not an "Islamist". Chikli is a cynical racist and I hope Israelis turf him and his sick government out
What a day to be Israeli:
A muslim pilot tried to crash their plane. Then they landed in Saudi Arabia, where Muslims took care of them.
Thank God they landed in Saudi Arabia. Imagine landing in Spain, the Netherlands or Ireland. The local “progressives” would probably demand they declare they’re not Zionists before handing them a glass of water.
This man is a hero.
Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
Indian. Israeli. Emirati.
Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪
We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.
An “incident” is when you legitimise Iran’s murderous regime by shaking the hand of their foreign minister.
A “terrorist attack” is when someone tries to down an airliner.
The British Foreign Secretary really ought to know this.
Try this: ‘Gaza’s government were Muslim supremacist jihadists, backed and trained by expansionist Muslim-imperialist dictatorships, who invaded Israel during a ceasefire, accompanied by thousands of other Gazans. They murdered everyone they could find, shot hundreds of unarmed young people with machine guns at a music festival as they fled, stole Israeli children, babies and holocaust survivors from their homes after slaughtering their relatives in front of them, raped women next to the corpses of their friends, desecrated dead girls’ bodies in the streets as large crowds shrieked ‘allahu akhbar’ and spat on them, beheaded people with garden implements and burnt entire families to death.
The Gazans recorded the entire thing, made phone calls saying stuff like ‘dad, mum, you’ll be so proud of how many Jews I killed’, and repeatedly and furiously vowed to do the same thing over and over until they’d conquered and annihilated the entire state of Israel.
The Gazan jihadists then stole hundreds of captives, held them in dark tunnels while torturing and killing them, rigged up almost every building in Gaza - mostly built on top of those tunnels (which Gaza’s government used billions of dollars in aid to dig) - with bombs and explosives, and hid in schools and civilian infrastructure and shrieked ‘GENOCIDE’ before Israel had even responded, but while continuing to launch rockets en masse into Israel, along with neighbouring jihadist death cults, promising to destroy Israel, and refusing to surrender.
Israel was forced to respond, which it did, sacrificing hundreds and hundreds of its own young people to try and ensure the war was as targeted as possible and taking great pains to keep the number of civilian deaths as low as possible in the almost impossible circumstances.
While they did this, I - Mario - devoted my time to spreading moronic deeply morally suspect slop-style propaganda on the internet aimed at getting clicks from people who support the jihadists and hate Jews.
Much of the rest of the world behaved similarly. At the same time, far deadlier conflicts - such as the mass murder of Iranian protesters by Muslim fanatics, or the genocide of African Christians by Muslim groups, or the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of people by Muslim groups in Darfur - were almost entirely ignored by everyone who claimed to be horrified by the Israeli response to the war waged by Palestinians in Gaza.
We tried and succeeded in painting Gaza as the victim and Israel as a uniquely evil state in world history, but Israelis were not willing to simply give up and let themselves and their country be annihilated.’
Bernard-Henri Lévy @BHL was in Rwanda 🇷🇼. He's been to Sudan 🇸🇩. There were no ceasefires. No evacuation corridors. No warnings before the killing.
He's spent his LIFE studying this.
Yes, Gaza is terrible. But you can't call it a genocide.
@CEO4TAG I hope you’re aware of how the fans feel! Not a single person who sits near us or anyone else I know who goes to games enjoys the ‘experience’ as much as we used to. Please drop the goal music at least! Then let’s talk ticketing…
A few thoughts regarding the ongoing debate about the atmosphere at Selhurst.
I understand the club wanting to appeal to as wide a selection of people as possible when it comes to matchdays but that doesn’t mean we should move away from what makes Palace unique.
The Premier League is, by even the most basic standards a “global” product but that doesn’t automatically mean we have to do things that ensure we become cookie-cutter copies of other sporting institutions. I wouldn’t go to La Bombonera to watch Boca and expect Bovril and fans singing about the referee being a wanker, I’d want to soak up what makes Boca “Boca”. That’s intoxicating, that’s why it’s a Bucket List venue for so many because it knows exactly what it is and makes no apologies for it.
I love US sports too and enjoy the various traditions that exist within the huge array of fan-bases over there, it doesn’t mean I’d want it here. It’s theirs, it’s what feels natural to them, that’s the whole point.
If you want to attract a wider global audience to Palace, leaning into what makes us different from the rest is for me, the best way to go about that. Football is the most popular sport on earth, that isn’t going to change any time soon; with our club at its most recognisable point as a consequence of our recent trophy wins, it’s surely best to keep on reminding those who are now giving us a closer look what Palace are and always have been about, rather than trying to imitate others and fade into the background in the process?
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.
Brenda Power is a rare voice of moral clarity amongst the Irish commentariat on this issue. In under a minute she eviscerates Ireland’s hypocrisy.
‘There wasn’t a single peep of protest to the Irish cricket team voluntarily playing Afghanistan last month, where women are treated worse than battery chickens. It is the most extreme humanitarian crisis in the world right now, as far as I can see, the gender apartheid in Afghanistan. Not a word of protest.’
‘Where was your indignation when we played [Afghanistan]? England wouldn’t play them, South Africa wouldn’t play them, New Zealand wouldn’t play them. The great humanitarians in Ireland had absolutely no difficulty. We’re hypocrites.’
Brendan O’ Neill sums up all the discussion surrounding Israel vs Ireland on Sunday night.
Every word. Nailed it.
“There is no way to explain this mania and hypocrisy…”

How dare Miliband shake Araqchi’s hand.
He owes Parliament, British Jews, and the Foreman family an explanation and an apology.
A propaganda win for Tehran, that’s what Miliband has given Iran. This is not an ally who’s misbehaving so you make a stern face while shaking their hand.
This is the regime behind repeated attacks on our Jewish communities since 2025, attempted assassinations on our soil, cyber attacks on our nation, that murders women for a raising their voices and their heads, and is holding an innocent - I will say those words even if Miliband won’t - British couple on a 10-year sentence so it can use them as leverage.
Shameful.
Unlike @AbdulElSayed, I’m an Arab who is actually from Israel. My family lived through the establishment of the state of Israel and what he calls the “Nakba.” The Holocaust was nothing like the events of the “Nakba” where my grandfather was told to flee by Arab leaders (not Jews) so the Arabs could “defeat the Jews.” He refused, and all the Arab residents who stayed were given citizenship. Those who fled, a large number by choice, were not permitted to return, as often happens in war. That is a catastrophe, a “nakba” of their own making. But there was no choice in the Holocaust, there was no citizenship for those who stayed. You are intentionally comparing a war and a genocide. They are not the same.
Your vile attempt to co-opt the largest massacre of the Jewish people in history, the systematic murder of six million people simply because they were Jews, for your own dystopian pro-terror Muslim Brotherhood agenda is despicable. I see through you Abdul. You may be able to fool Western Americans with your garbage, but we know who you really are.

Honored to have my research mentioned by @netanyahu in his address to the UNGA. Israel has in fact implemented more civilian harm mitigation measures (many that no nation has ever even imagined/attemped) than any military in history.
The other facts in his speech were also spot on. Israel has not only implemented extraordinary precautions in urban warfare to prevent civilian harm while Hamas has done everything it can to increase civilian harm, there is no genocide, actually the opposite of genocide in Gaza, Israel provided tons of food, water, medical supplies, facilitated immunizations for the entire populations, field hospitals, built new water lines, electricity, got patients to hospitals outside of Gaza, and much more.
No Joke: The Islamic Republic of Iran has been elected by secret ballot to the U.N. nuclear watchdog’s General Committee one week after the same body condemned Iran for non-compliance.
Dracula has been put in charge of the blood bank.
