@bstockus Yes, so confusing. Just give Ss a number line and they will "invent" each of these strategies on their own. The quantities or contexts usually drive those decisions.

@bstockus I have a question. I have been using nwp and recently noticed the advice and reference to nwp in Mathematize It by Morrow-Leong. They recommended more visual models. I am finding that focus on a visual model gets in the way? What are your thoughts?

@mrsforest @davidwees For most Ss, the joy of finding a collection at home. Sometimes they have been grabbing a few scoops of something or counting toys, etc.A few students have needed collections sent home or on See Saw slides.
