@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan You keep on using the term “inter team battle” but that was one season, it was hardly representative of the Merc/Lewis dominance. 🙃
@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan So again, we’re talking about being happy about a team dominance but not a driver one? Both seem a bit shit to me and I would like the entire field to be closer rather than one team being miles ahead (as was the case with Merc and is the case with RB).
@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan Merc do exactly the same thing though? Apart from Nico’s win in 2016, Lewis was given so much help. “Valteri, it’s James” became a meme in itself. It’s not just RB who does it. If you’re happy with a constructor winning it 7 times in a row and one driver 6 out of those 7…
@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan I was 5 years old when I watched my first race in 1994, I’ve loved Williams since that season, the first poster I had on my wall was Damon Hill in his “0” car… but ye I’m definitely not an F1 fan.
@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan Again, and I cannot stress this enough, both are shit for neutrals. They’re only good if you support the driver/team who is doing all the winning.
@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan Yeah mate you’re right that’s how I want all seasons to be, the only winner going to be one of two drivers. Tbf I can imagine it was thrilling to a Mercedes fan. The rest of us just saw a Mercedes winning, again.
@cragz_uk@tekjnbo@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan 3 drivers in the fight for the championship? Both Lewis and Nico were 100+ points on 3rd place by the end. If Mercedes had prioritised one driver over the other then we wouldn’t be far off where Max is now. Also, the 4 different winners were because of Merc DNFs, not good racing.
@tekjnbo@cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan The Merc wasn’t as all rounded as the RB is, but pretty much the only thing that anyone (Ferrari) could beat them on was top speed. But they were so far ahead on most other aspects of the track that it didn’t matter most of the time.
@tekjnbo@cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan This is it. At least with the Merc dominance you had the hopes of a mishap, whether it was a driver error or a mechanical issue, with Verstappen and Red Bull you have neither.
@NathanH_NUFC @cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan That’s the only difference, it was a team dominance compared to a driver one. As a neutral, I’m a Williams fan, neither are thrilling to watch.
@cragz_uk@valkeritos@ChefWayner@ashnathan In the 7 seasons between 2014-2020, Merc won 75% of all races. The only reason this wasn’t higher was because Ferrari were relatively competitive in 2017 and 2018. In 2016 they won every race bar 2. It was everything like we are seeing the past two years.
If an incident causes full course yellows and a safety car is brought out, and then the FIA changes it’s mind and calls a red flag for the same incident, surely the order from the yellow flag should be used! Drivers shouldn’t be punished for the FIA’s indecision. #bbcf1#AusGP
Hey Hamilton fans, a couple of things… neither Yuki’s nor Bottas’ stops were deliberate attempts to help anyone. And George made the right call while Lewis didn’t, he fucked it up not George and not the team. That’s all. #DutchGP#F1xed
Toto’s surprised “Sorry?” after getting put back in his box by Masi is possibly my favourite part of the season. Proper chef’s kiss moment that! #AbuDhabiGP
