3-2, 0-2 (B1G) - Year 6 Rant:
Zero points off of 4 TO's + (7) 3 and outs on offense + 10 penalties for close to 100 yards + a team wide lack of outward passion + low FB IQ is not a recipe for winning Big Ten games on the road vs. borderline Top 25 teams. Or winning Big Ten games, period. Getting physically beat up and mentally outmatched players and coaches alike is unacceptable and frankly draining for the fan base.
At this point, Start the freshmen on the offensive line. What do we have to lose? This was always a rebuilding season (with mass O-Line, secondary + QB losses) but the programs catch phrase "The Maryland Standard" just isn't currently good enough.
6-6 seems the ceiling for the year now. And it's disheartening for even the most passionate fans. Enough with all the words and catch phrases, well coached, player led teams don't beat themselves continually. We've lost two B1G games to 1st year coaches whose programs seem further ahead than ours in Year 6. We were + 6 in turnover margin vs. MSU and IU and lost both games. Why? Play-calling, missed assignments, a lack of discipline with a whopping combined total of 19 penalties for 173 yards.
Just want everyone to look in the mirror and be accountable, including Coaches, players & Admin. Because what we are doing right now program wide, is not good enough. Rant Over. @TerpsFootball #TBIA
Aidan O'Connell started 2019 as a walk-on, 3rd-string QB for @BoilerFootball.
Last week, he led a game-winning TD drive after replacing the injured starter.
Today, in his first career start, he got emotional after leading another game-winning drive in his hometown.
