Physicians for Human Rights Israel has warned that Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, is now in immediate danger of being killed in Israeli occupation custody. His lawyer, Nasser Odeh, who visited him on 2 July at the underground Rakefet interrogation facility inside Nitzan Prison, said he barely recognized him. Dr. Abu Safiya was brought in shackled hand and foot, flanked by masked guards, his head, eyes, ears and neck covered in fresh injuries. He struggled to breathe and speak, could not sit upright without nearly collapsing, and seemed close to losing consciousness, too frightened to speak freely.
He told his lawyer that after his Supreme Court appeal was heard in June, guards entered his solitary cell and beat him with a hammer and batons, and that since his transfer to Rakefet on 24 June he has been beaten daily to the point of repeatedly losing consciousness, with no medical care. He said plainly: this is the last time you will see me, they brought me here to kill me. Held since December 2024 under the occupation's "Unlawful Combatants" law, without charge or trial, Dr. Abu Safiya saw his beatings escalate sharply only after he legally challenged his detention, and both his lawyer and PHRI are demanding his immediate transfer, an independent medical examination and his release, warning that any delay could cost him his life.
This weekend in the West Bank has seen the yet another of a seemingly endless wave of serious settler violence against Palestinians. Here are the documented events:
1) More than 20 people were injured in coordinated incursions that hit at least a dozen locations from the Jordan Valley to the South Hebron Hills.
2) In Abu Falah north of Ramallah, masked settlers threw stones and sprayed tear gas at farmers and activists on Friday morning. Six were injured. Settlers blocked Red Crescent teams from reaching the wounded for close to an hour.
3) The Abu Falah attack traces back to an outpost built in Area B in March. A resident said the IDF cleared it regularly until early June. The evictions then stopped. The outpost stayed. The residents got attacked.
4) The army ignored all this. The IDF said it received no report through orderly channels. An activist showed Haaretz a screenshot proving he contacted the army in real time. Witnesses said security forces were present and did not intervene.
5) The same non-intervention repeated across sites. At Umm al-Khair in the South Hebron Hills, two residents were hospitalized after being beaten. Soldiers on camera did not stop it. Hours later the Civil Administration placed a closed military zone order on Palestinian structures, including a barn the owner was barred from reaching to feed his flock.
6) Settlers uprooted roughly 500 olive trees in Qusra near Nablus and burned farmland north of Turmus Ayya. Near Khan al-Ahmar an Israeli ATV was filmed driving fast into a crowd of residents. Police arrested three villagers and detained the driver.
7) At Khirbet Yarza in the Jordan Valley, settlers roamed among Palestinian structures despite a High Court ruling that permits the expelled community to return. The court said return. The settlers stayed. Nobody enforced the ruling.
This is a policy of the Israeli government, fully backed by Israeli society. The goal is to make the West Bank unlivable for Palestinians to further settlement and encourage Palestinians to abandon their lands to the settlers.
HORRIFIC: Israeli settlers are carrying out a pogrom right now in the village of Burqa in Nablus in the West Bank. They are setting houses on fire in an attempt to burn families alive.
🚨BREAKING : A horrific massacre in Gaza one month old infant Mohammed Al-Khatib lost his leg after an Israeli missile struck his family’s tent while his mother was breastfeeding him. She was killed instantly in the attack.
Wikileaks released footage of a very similar incident perpetrated by US soldiers in 2010. The footage triggered global outrage at the highest levels. Now Israel perpetrates this crime over and over again, with total impunity. Zionism is hollowing out humanity and must be ended.
Evidence that the IDF has systematically targeted children in Gaza is overwhelming. It is one of several reasons why Israel is, and will remain, a pariah state.
Only the most fanatical apologists for Israel's crimes refuse to acknowledge reality.
Here is just a small amount of the evidence freely available to those not so deeply indoctrinated by hasbara

Piers Morgan just read the Haaretz investigation. IDF soldiers shot an unarmed old man and three boys. Their bodies were riddled with bullets. The battalion commander spat on them and yelled, 'This is what happens.' In another incident, a tank fired hundreds of rounds at five Palestinians crossing a line. Four were killed. A bulldozer buried them in the sand.
Gideon Levy, the Israeli journalist, said: 'This is not exceptions. This is the occupation. You cannot occupy for decades and remain human. What will make people realize we are growing monsters in front of our eyes?
Today, for the third time in my mother's life and for the second in my own life, we lost a home due to it being bombed by the Israeli army.
This home was in a building constructed by my uncle, the Lebanese historian Ahmad Beydoun, after my family was able to return to our ancestral hometown, Bint Jbeil, in the year 2000 when Israel ended its decades-long occupation there, during which they destroyed my mother's childhood home. In 2006, they would destroy both her and my home in Beirut, rendering us both temporarily homeless.
Uncle Ahmad's building was a costly joint effort financed by himself as well as my mother and his other siblings. Each owned an apartment in the building, which also housed medical practices, a baby toys shop (owned and run by my cousin Jamal) and a branch for Bank Audi.
Upon hearing this news, Uncle Ahmad wrote: "in our hearts, this is the least of our losses." We can all only be thankful that our family is unharmed: when I told this story to a distant cousin, she replied that her friend had lost both her mother and father in Israel's bombing of Beirut two days ago, which killed more than 300 civilians in the space of ten minutes.
For reasons that are difficult to understand, the Israeli army posted a video of their crime, which I share here.
Finance Minister of Israel Bezalel Smotrich announces that Israel will begin expanding its borders into Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, in alignment with the Greater Israel Project.
He says this is the only viable solution to ensure Israel is well protected.
He adds that many more settlements will be established in the near future.
"There will be a lot of work for all of us after the war."
HORRIFIC: Israeli settler terrorists attacked a Palestinian family in the village of Silwad — a father, a pregnant mother, and their child. They brutally beat them, kicked them, and sprayed them with pepper spray.
All three were rushed to the hospital.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Saturday that Jews are committing killings, "ethnic cleansing," and "crimes against humanity" in the West Bank https://t.co/lowYaQ25ta
Along with Israel's constant bombing of Gaza, 97% of Gaza's livestock has been killed through the bombing, sniping, and looting of animals by Israeli forces.
ISRAELI OCCUPATION OF GAZA = NO PROPERTY RIGHTS = NO LIVESTOCK = STARVATION.
Was hoping this photo was not real.
Sadly it is. This is the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset dressed up as "Death Penalty", holding a hanging noose. Her settler husband is holding a prop gun labeled "Occupation," an airplane labeled "Expulsion," and a house labeled "Settlement."
