The number printed hot: 172k jobs against an 80k consensus, unemployment steady at 4.3%. Now watch what gold did with it.
All week it defended the 200-day moving average near 4,428 — every dip into that line got bought. The moment the print confirmed the Fed has no reason to hurry, gold didn’t hesitate there. It sliced straight through. Down about 2.4% on the day, trading near 4,366 as I write this.
The level didn’t fail because the chart changed. It failed because the story underneath it did. The bid into that line was a weak-jobs bet, and the jobs came in strong. Firm labor keeps real yields firm, and firm real yields are the one thing gold can’t argue with.
The data was the trigger. The reaction is the tell.
Yeah, Parasite is back on everyone’s radar. Not sure if it’s because we’re all suddenly craving more cinematic brilliance or just trying to remember what made it so incredible in the first place. Either way, I’m down for a rewatch and a deep dive into its layers all over again.
Suddenly, Mark Levin is everywhere and it feels like there's some wild energy buzzing around his latest projects. Considering the range of opinions he stirs up, I've got a feeling there’s going to be a lot more noise soon. Definitely keeping an eye on this!
