@adamcarv@RobertKennedyJr I’d venture to guess that the reason he’s dog whistling crypto is that the people who care are generally easily swayed. The stakes of a spoiler are so much higher here than a lame promise of some utopian decentralized future. I.e., the survival of democracy and our very planet.
@mikiebarb@NGrossman81 It also went over the heads of those of us too disgusted to read a gauzy profile of a convicted fraud on the front page of the Business section, generally not where one turns for pieces of subtle satire. @nytimes
@billmaher@HBO@RealTimers@elonmusk What an absolute waste of time. No balanced line of questioning about dubious and hypocritical approach to democracy and “free speech”, just more tired, tired hagiography and “genius” worship. Congrats @billmaher for contributing nothing to the conversation.
@WallStCynic What data are you referencing here? Research I’ve seen was a record low vacancy rate in the low single digits for major markers in 2h22. Not one market I’ve looked at is anywhere near the number you cite.
@steveliesman Plenty of information about daily routines, zero follow-up to Powell’s prior incorrect assertion about financial conditions and their impact on inflation.
@michaelsantoli Well it works! They have definitely countersunk the nail, though markets are still not convinced it’s even flush (I think I’ve exhausted this analogy)
@adamcarv It not being a bank, and its custody of the assets, is exactly the point here vis a vis insured deposits in commercial banks. Whether they misled is a whole other story. Marketing and investor perception is a huge problem endemic to crypto at large.
@jonlovett I heard you on the @PodSaveAmerica mailbag saying “Exile” is your favorite Taylor Swift song. I have a 2yr old, 600-word mini essay explaining how it’s about Obama/Trump voters. My friends and family are nonplussed. I feel like you are the only on who can vindicate me.
@steveliesman 2008 (and 1998, for that matter) were largely driven by concentrated and correlated risks that weren’t fully understood or properly priced by various markets. The question is, if and where does that exist today, with respect to this crisis.
@steveliesman Steve, your analysis this weekend has been outstanding; thank you. I agree with your conclusion but there’s much daylight between that outcomes and where we are.
