This should be on a giant billboard in every city in the US.
"America does not need to see the tax return of a billionaire who became a public servant. America needs to see the tax returns of public servants who became millionaires while being public servants.”
He knows he’s gonna lose. So he’s planting the seeds with his followers that it was stolen from him. To incite. And divide. And delegitimize. And cause unrest. Yes, it’s ugly. Yes it’s un-American. And yes, we all gotta be strong together to squash what he’s doing.
Obamagate is just a distraction. My former Republican colleagues don’t want you thinking about the 83,000 dead and the 33 million unemployed.
So from now on, every time they say “Obamagate,” just say “Trump lied, and Americans died.”
Dr. Fauci is one of the finest public servants we have ever had. He is not a partisan. His only interest is saving lives. We need his expertise and his judgment to defeat this virus. All Americans should be thanking him. Every day.
The truth:
The virus was here before the China travel ban at the end of January. Trump did nothing while the virus spread through the U.S. in February and into March. So we were unprepared—short of tests and medical equipment. So we lost many more lives and jobs than we had to.
Dilemma for us in the press: when the President makes crazy, untrue claims, it is our job to challenge them. But the resulting fight plays right into Trump’s narrative about the press, which energizes his base. Is there a better way or are we locked into this vicious cycle?
I haven’t heard many Republicans refuting what Trump said yesterday, so I just want to make sure I’m right: We still don’t allow kings in America, do we?
