Incident Alert: @PVDFireDept is operating at a 3rd alarm fire involving three homes on Carpenter Street. Currently, 67 firefighters are on scene working to control and extinguish the fire.
Incident Update: the primary fire building has collapsed, and two abutting properties sustained heavy fire damage. The fire is now under control. Two firefighters are being treated for minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Today I'm proud to announce that we've added a brand new rescue with the most up-to-date technology and are hiring 16 new firefighters to join the force in the upcoming months.
These efforts are in thanks to the Providence City Council and with support from Senator Whitehouse, Senator Reed, Congressman Amo and Congressman Magaziner. These investments in the City not only strengthen our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our community but will also equip firefighters with technology that protect our residents.

You may be surprised to learn that water isn't always the go-to fire extinguishing method. Here's a glimpse of our recent training session, where we practiced deploying firefighting foam to combat fires involving flammable liquids like gasoline, oil, and alcohol.
Our 56th Academy are pushing their limits and ascending Pompier ladders with confidence. This specialized training prepares them for the demands of firefighting operations, including ladder rescues in adverse conditions. Thank you @BostonFire for the use of the training site!

@PVDFireDept is currently working a large brush fire in the wooded area of Lippit Park & Swan Point Cemetery.
We have approximately 42 firefighters working to extinguish the fire, so far there are no report of injuries or damage to structures.
