🌡️ It is now virtually certain that 2024 will be the warmest year on record. It is also virtually certain that the annual temperature for 2024 will be more than 1.5°C above the pre-industrial level.

As anticipated, the #CopernicusClimate ERA5 preliminary data show that Monday 22 July was the warmest day in recent history, at 17.15°C, breaking the records from 21 July 24 and 6 July 23.

New data from @CopernicusECMWF shows that we've now had:
- the eighth record breaking month in a row and
- twelve months (Feb 23-Jan 24) with global temperatures more than 1.5ºC above the pre-industrial reference baseline.
🌡️📈 According to data from the #CopernicusClimate Change Service, the first 3 weeks of July have already broken several significant records, including:
▶️Hottest day globally;
▶️Hottest 3 weeks globally.

▶️July 2023 likely to be hottest month on record.
📈According to the #ERA5dataset, the 7 days from 3rd to 9th July 2023 were the 7 hottest days on record globally, making the first week of July 2023 the hottest week on record.
