There are places we pass through in life… and there are places that become part of who we are.
Manchester will forever be my home.
To the city, the club, and every supporter, my sincerest thank you. These past four years have been unforgettable, filled with moments my family and I will carry with us for the rest of our lives. There simply aren’t enough words to describe the happiness and warmth we’ve felt here.
Thank you for every cheer, every memory, and for making us feel at home from the very first day.
Forever a Red Devil ❤️
Today I learned that people get more carsick in EVs
If you have felt like want to vomit riding in a Tesla or BYD and thought you were imagining it, you are not.
Electric vehicles cause more frequent and more severe motion sickness than petrol cars. A study back in 2024 found symptoms were 10 to 30 percent more intense. Back-seat passengers suffer the most.
Three reasons.
No engine sound.
Your brain has been trained to associate engine revving with acceleration. EVs are silent. Your brain gets no warning of the motion about to hit.
Instant torque.
Electric motors deliver maximum torque immediately. Petrol engines build up gradually. An EV accelerating from a traffic light reaches highway speed way quicker.
Regenerative braking.
The main culprit. When the driver lifts off the accelerator, the motor reverses into a generator to recapture energy. The deceleration this creates happens at roughly 0.2 Hz, which is almost exactly the frequency that triggers motion sickness.
One-pedal driving makes it worse. In a petrol car you coast between acceleration and braking. In an EV you are constantly accelerating or decelerating. That forward-back rhythm never existed in petrol cars before.
Manufacturers have noticed. Tesla, BYD, and MG let you reduce regen braking. Xiaomi's YU7 introduced a dedicated motion sickness mode. Mercedes has simulated V8 engine sounds so the audio cues reduce motion sickness.
If you get sick in an EV, three practical moves.
Reduce regen braking in settings.
Sit in the front.
Look far ahead, not at your phone.
Have you noticed this while sitting in an EV?
This analogy falls apart the moment you confuse smell, safety, and shared space with “culture”
I’m Malay, I love sambal belacan.
But I don’t store buckets of belacan till it leaks into my neighbour’s house, stairwell, lift, and drains.
If I did, and people complained, that’s not racism. That’s basic public nuisance.
Same principle here.
Pig farming in Selangor isn’t being questioned because “Muslims hate pork”.
It’s questioned because of waste discharge, air pollution, water contamination, proximity to homes, and public health risks.
These are environmental and regulatory issues, not religious policing.
Your Europe example?
If frying belacan caused persistent odour affecting neighbouring units, councils there would absolutely intervene.
Europe regulates smells, noise, waste, livestock, even compost bins. Freedom doesn’t mean zero rules.
Now the India cow example is another false equivalence.
Violence against people for food choices is wrong, period.
But no one here is beating pig farmers or banning pork consumption.
People are demanding modern waste management, proper zoning, and enforcement of environmental laws.
Also, pigs ≠ char siew in a shop window.
One is an industrial activity with effluent, the other is a retail product.
You’re deliberately blurring categories to provoke emotion, not reason.
“Live and let live” doesn’t mean:
– dump waste into rivers
– poison fishing grounds
– stink up residential areas
– then cry “culture” when people push back
Multiculturalism works when everyone accepts limits in shared spaces.
Not when one side demands total tolerance while ignoring impact on others.
This isn’t about pork being haram.
It’s about pollution being unacceptable.
Imagine getting bomb threats to your own home, stripped off captaincy and severely cyber-bullied. Yet playing like this week in week out 2 years later. Most mentally resilient player I've ever seen in my life.

Ukraine is in talks with Gamuda Bhd and is inviting other Malaysian construction firms to take part in post-war reconstruction projects valued at a minimum of US$500 billion.
Around 286 bridges, extensive road networks, and heavily damaged cities such as Bakhmut are among the infrastructure that require rebuilding.
