Shayan Hushyar, a Turkish researcher, has spoken about the historical presence of Kurds in West Azerbaijan and challenged hate-promoting narratives such as “Kurds are refugees and not indigenous people of the Kurdistan land”.
He has been sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in prison and has been incarcerated since August 2. Historical disputes should be addressed through evidence and dialogue, not imprisonment!!
Tina Ghazimorad is a former Manoto TV journalist who is now communications director to Reza Pahlavi. She has publicly expressed strong support for the Pahlavi camp and has taken positions hostile toward Kurdish political aspirations in Iran. She has repeatedly promoted what I consider to be false and misleading narratives about Kurdish political movements in Iran, their history, their objectives, and the level of popular support they have among millions of Kurds in Iran. Her characterization of Kurdish political movements primarily through the lens of “separatism” dismisses the diversity of Kurdish political demands, including democratic rights, self-determination, federalism, and political participation within a democratic Iran. From my perspective, these statements are not only inaccurate but contribute to a hostile narrative toward Kurdish political aspirations and Kurdish representation in Iran. @Jerusalem_Post
Monarchists are back at it again trying to divide Kermashan from the rest of Rojhelatî Kurdistan. As if modern Iranian provincial borders erase centuries of Kurdish history, geography, and identity. And yet they somehow have the audacity to call us
"separatists" when they attempt to separate Kurds by geography, religion, tribe, dialect, etc.
As a proud Kermashani Kurd, I reject this attempt to separate us from the rest of the Kurdish people. Kermashan will always be a part of Rojhelat and all Kurds are our brothers and sisters til the end of time, regardless of where they are from.
We all know you are shaken to the core by seeing more and more Kurds inside are rapping, singing, saying out loud that Kermashan is Kurdistan, and their nationality is Kurdish, and that they tear apart every word you have written. But all these lies, the historical revisionism, the Iranian assimilationist narrative, and the complete avoidance of the history and reality of Kurdish oppression is a bit too desperate. I don’t know why @Jerusalem_Post do not fact check all these King-ollahs opinions, or at least highlight that they are far from facts.
Not the Shah’s brutal authoritarian regime nor the Islamic Republic that continued Shah’s oppressive policies succeeded to erase the Kurds, their language, their culture, or Kurdistan. Despite their ideological differences, the Islamic Republic continued policies of repression, centralisation and assimilation directed against Kurdish identity and political aspirations.
They failed.
And just as those projects failed to erase Kurdish identity from Kermashan, repackaging the same assimilationist narrative under Shah’s kid supporter will fail there too.
Kermashan and Ilam are Kurdish. Its language, culture and people have survived every attempt to write them out of history, and they will survive this one as well. Both are Kurdistan. And it has been always.
YOU are the separatists. YOU are the terrorising force behind cute suits with chanting buzzwords as “democracy” and “freedom - but in fact you are just the same Islamic regime with shia-Islamic ideology.
Rohan Sefo, 11, from Bakur, and Setayesh Sadeghzadeh, 13, from Rojhilat, are two Kurdish children whose voices have resonated across Kurdistan. Rohan’s social media accounts were shut down after he sang “Lêxe Amedspor”; Setayesh’s Instagram account was blocked by judicial order. Both have millions of followers.
But what is being silenced here is not simply the voices of two children, but the expression of a people’s language, culture and identity. Silencing Kurdish children’s music and creativity is an act of cultural oppression and an attempt to constrain how a new generation speaks, creates, remembers and carries its culture forward. The colonisers are so afraid of Kurdish resistance that they cut the buds of self-representation at the roots. To these states, these aren’t children; they are future “terrorists” whose creativity and voices could empower millions to resist their oppression and violence. To the oppressors everything is political, everything is an existential threat even children singing. Our resistance must therefore reflect this harsh reality.
When the Iranian regime speaks about children in Gaza, ask them about Wanyar🖤.
A baby. One day old. Killed in the Iranian regime’s missile attack on Azadi Camp in Koya on September 28, 2022.
Ask them about the children killed during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement. About the children killed during the January 2026 protests. About the children executed by this regime, including Mohammad Amin Dehghani in Baluchistan.
A regime with blood on its hands cannot claim to stand for peace.
Not in Gaza. Not anywhere.

Imagine being a prosecuted kurd seeking asylum only to end up in ICE detention and arbitrarily arrested when you thought you found freedom and safety 💔 we demand the freedom of Azad Roni Demir!
We call for the immediate release of Assad Roni Demir, a longtime lead organizer of New York Kurdish Film Festival.
We thank the offices of @RepAndreCarson and @danielsgoldman for their assistance.
The youth in Rojhelat are deeply connected to their roots. After centuries of attempts to erase, assimilate, and Persianize Kurds, to reduce Kurds to a subgroup within a broader Iranian national identity, young people in Kermashan openly expressing their Kurdish identity and their wish for a free Kurdistan:
“I am Kurdistani, from Kermashan.
Long live Kurdistan. Some say Iran is better - uhh I was shocked.
It’s the honourable, fearless people.
Kurdistan is not a province;
Kurdistan is my nationality.”
From inside Kermashan ☀️

Stop the enforced disappearances of Baloch people! For decades now Baloch people in Pakistan and Iran have faced enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention and extrajudicial killings. Activists, students and civilians are taken away, leaving families without answers for years. The disappeared are not statistics. They are loved ones, family members, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters. Their families deserve truth, justice and answers.
The sheer amount of slurs, racism, insults, harassment, and bullying directed at Jina’s parents - and at tens of millions of Kurdish people - has not prompted a single prominent Iranian figure to take a clear stand against it.
The same people who were willing to invoke Jina’s name to raise funds, use “Jin-Jiyan-Azadî” while accepting awards, and capitalize on Kurdish pain and blood to build their own platforms and promote themselves.
It is beyond pathetic. Beyond shameful.
Silence is complicity. And trying to play both sides is not neutrality, it is a deliberate choice.
@AlinejadMasih Are you going to remain silent in the face of the attacks, insults, and dehumanisation directed at Jina Amini, her parents, and 50 million Kurds - it comes from Iranian monarchists, republicans, or supporters of the regime?
Notice how they’re just doing this because she’s Kurdish and her family are proud to be Kurds. I wonder why if you’re so focused on hero’s why not mention mothers like Minoo Majidi from Kermanshan who put her life on and was shot at 167 times while chanting Jin, Jiyan, Azadi.
Is his circle really that incompetent that nobody has brought this to his attention? Nobody told him that Jina Amini’s own father’s account got banned after being harassed by monarchists? How does this reflect on his leadership when so many of his followers behave this way and he still hasn’t addressed it and isn’t able to control it?
