This documentary is a MUST WATCH and goes out on Wednesday night, 9 pm on @Channel4@AnnaHallTV Anna’s 20 year journey has coincided my own 20 year journey learning of the horrors of so called “grooming gangs” which has opened my eyes to the fact that our so called “criminal justice system” isn’t equal, and often rests on decisions made right at the top. Decisions such as….Is this victim worthy? Does this job deserve resources? Do these children matter?
Anna’s original documentary in 2004 marked the start too of Op Augusta! Her journey mirrors my own. So when she called me two years ago when I was away on holiday to ask if I’d help her to bring this 20 year anniversary film to our screens, I said I’d do my best. I could think of no one better to entrust these important stories to….
And so began two years of planning, identifying survivors who WANTED to be heard, and then supporting them fully throughout this whole process so they feel supported and nurtured as they tell their stories publicly for the first time.
It’s a brutal watch, but maybe anyone who watches will come away knowing WHY I’m involved in the #TheyKnew campaign and WHY I believe Accountability at the TOP is necessary.
Quite separate from the documentary however, 3 of the young women who share their harrowing stories are being supported by our incredible team at @TMOFCharity The Maggie Oliver Foundation in their fights for justice, and they have been for several years, and that will continue long after this programme has aired.
I’d recommend you watch it, and make up your own minds as to whether I’m just “a woman who became too emotionally involved” as I was accused of by now SIR Peter Fahy when I resigned from @gmpolice and first went public in 2013.
And to this day I still feel the same way as I did back in 2005. This “turning a blind eye” is in my opinion misconduct in a public office of the highest order. It is gross criminal neglect at the highest of levels. The worst thing is, I know now this wasn’t only one case closed down because they didn’t think these kids mattered and they didn’t want to rock the multi cultural boat, it was just the tip of the iceberg but the first time I saw it!
And quite simply, it is WRONG!!!!
The Irish government is shaken up by the news that tourism to Ireland dropped 25% in January and 30% in February, with revenue down 31%.
The world famous Irish tourism industry is collapsing because tourists have figured out that Ireland doesn't really feel Irish anymore.
A traditional seaside holiday in England. Rollerskating, little boats and pedal cars, and watching a Punch and Judy show. A perfect summer in the 1950s.
🆘 Hello Manchester Royal Infirmary @MFT_MRI@MFTnhs
The coroner is seriously concerned that you let one of your Physician Assistants loose on patients in the Ambulatory Unit, and a young dude (a nearly qualified solicitor) died from a fatal heart haemorrhage (AORTIC DISSECTION) 💀☠️
⭕️ The PA K!lled the patient by ignoring serious symptoms and a strong family history of cardiac issues, failing to get a doctor to physically review the patient before discharge.
⭕️ PAs are overdiagnosing anxiety and panic attacks due to limited medical knowledge. Emily Chesterton was prescribed propranolol for anxiety while unknowingly suffering from a fatal PE.
How many young patients need to die before you stop this experiment on the public?
We have a date for our court hearing.
13-14th May (the case will run for 1.5 days).
See you there!
(assuming we can raise the funds).

We’ve just heard the NHS is to hire physician associates from abroad despite training quality fears
@AnaesUnited has stepped up to protect patient safety. But they can’t do it alone. They need our support to succeed

Confirming our position that there is no role for Physician Associates in general practice – our Chair @KamilaRCGP submits letter to the Leng Review.

Simply staggered to see this. An NHS trust permitting an unregulated PA without a medical degree drill holes into patients’ brains.
And yes - @gmcuk maintains it’s perfectly fine for PAs to have their scope of practice set locally, without any national constraints.
Madness 🤷♀️
"Experienced professionals" as a patient it is a no thanks from me. I always double check I am seeing a Dr before I disclose anything. I am just grateful that the UK has Dr's who still hold patient safety at the forefront.
😂😂😂 no... Imagine what would happen if as doctors you could have these really experienced professionals with multi professional skillsets coming to help you! ... Let's call them... associates... We could all work together to make things better for patients and doctors! And then you get nice things, new friends, and help setting up a portal!
Alternatively, I would be more than happy to set up a new trade union and/or college for you if you want that will deliver for the needs of junior doctors? If you keep trying to remove my role I may well need work soon... Anyway, I have never been so complemented in my life ❤️ thanks toast and co! The team is proud of the reception for our hard work and quick turnaround.
Wow. £170,000 raised in LESS than 24 hours!
Maggie Oliver is not only such a kind and wonderful woman, she genuinely cares so deeply about the victims of grooming gangs and is not politically biased in anyway shape or form.

In response to @AndyBurnhamGM interview on @SkyNews today (link below) he repeatedly says this is a “problem of the past”…..
I will share the story of this brave dad and daughter, and their experience @MarlonTag
A very recent horror story where his daughter was horrifically raped and abused over several years, where he was even arrested for trying to protect her….
Is this also “of the past”?
I know Marlon and Scarlett would not agree, and I will let people reading this make up their own minds.
Only two years ago, my daughter was groomed in Rochdale!
Myself and Scarlett were treated like criminals. She was actually arrested and bailed for the intent to supply Class A drugs because her groomer was a drug dealer. She wasn't charged but bailed for 12 weeks. Nothing has changed with GMP. Grooming is worse in Manchester than it has ever been.
