The sad reality of Intenet today.
Being contrarian creates engagement and is rewarded by social platforms with more visibility.
Due to Brandolini’s law, contrarians will always get away with their bullshit.
Social platforms need to step up in fixing this.
Few people realise how lucrative it is to be an antivax grifter. @alexberenson a middling player in the field makes an estimated ~$108,000/month from his Substack alone, roughly 10X what I make as a a very senior infectious disease epidemiologist.

Trump: "If we were playing hardball, all we'd do is say we're going to do no trading with Canada. If we did no trading with Canada would save $90 billion."
How bad was life before modern science, technology, and economic growth? Awful.
The example I will use in class this Wednesday is Henry Clay (1777-1852). He was one of the most powerful men of his time in the U.S., not just among the elite but among the elite of the elite: Speaker of the House, Secretary of State, Senator, and three-time presidential candidate. He was also rich and a large slaveholder. The U.S. was among the richest countries in the world (perhaps only behind Great Britain) and among the most technologically advanced. And we are not talking about the early Middle Ages, but about the first half of the 19th century.
Given the constraints of his time, he had nearly everything within reach.
Clay and his wife, Lucretia (both in the photograph), had eleven children: six daughters and five sons. He buried all six daughters. By 1835, all were dead: two as infants, two as children, two as young mothers. He also buried a son in a war his father had opposed. Another son, Theodore, fractured his skull as a child, but since nobody could treat him, he spent decades in an asylum in Lexington.
Think about this for a second: seven children dead and one handicapped out of eleven, in the first half of the 19th century, among the elite of the elite, in one of the richest and most advanced places on the planet.
And I was angry yesterday because my cell phone coverage in Toddington (England) was poor.
The absurdity of bitcoin treasury companies continues.
When Metaplanet launched, the hype around it was that Japan was the best place to start raising capital for a bitcoin treasury company.
The pitch they made was that they were going to raise cheap yen, and since it was depreciating so quickly, converting it to bitcoin was the ultimate carry trade. They were trading the worst fiat for the apex asset bitcoin they said...
Now...all the sudden they want to launch a preferred to raise capital in the USA at the exact same time the Yen is getting hammered, after two years of the stock falling absolutely flat on its face.
You have to be retarded to buy this thing.
@kikollan Las casas de apuestas señalan a Francia e Inglaterra como ligeras favoritas pero vosotros señalais lo contrario, cual es el ingrediente secreto que añadis a la receta?
@SemperVigilant1 That’s actually how mortgages work in several countries, like in Sweden.
The difference however is that real state has a use case beyond speculation, BTC hasn’t.
@saylor For it to appreciate you need to keep on buying, which increases your dividend expense or dilutes your shares. Strategy depends on some other idiot pumping BTC, because it does not produce anything.
Don’t be that idiot.
@coinbureau The strategy is hopeless: even if BTC stays flat they will regularly need to sell BTC, which will not help price.
The whole strategy is entirely dependent on someone else continuously fueling BTC price. Don’t be that someone.
Clear evidence of hopeless the strategy of $MSTR is: if BTC does not constantly grow they will regularly need to sell BTC, which will not help price.
The whole strategy is entirely dependent on someone else continuously fueling BTC price. Don’t be that someone.
Strategy has sold 3,588 $BTC for $216 million to fund dividends on our Digital Credit securities. As of 7/5/2026, we hodl ₿843,775 in our BTC Reserves and $2.55 billion in our USD Reserves.
