Almost Five years ago I was a healthy, very active man in the prime of my life.

An artist by heart and soul who had traveled to over 100 countries, maintained peak health and fitness, and ran or hiked miles in nature almost every day. Simple, full, and free.

Then on July 21, 2021, I received the Moderna COVID vaccine.

I felt it the moment it entered my body.

Within days a cytokine storm triggered a rare neuromuscular disease and multi-system damage. I went from the ICU to six brutal weeks in hospital, and nothing has been the same since.

Today I am mostly bedridden, confined to my bedroom. I cannot work. I cannot drive. I cannot grocery shop. I can barely walk more than short distances on my best days. I have not left my house further than a quarter mile in years.

Every single day I endure ischemic stroke-like episodes, a partially paralyzed diaphragm that makes breathing a struggle, severe neuropathic pain, esophagus and larynx spasms, severe swallowing issues that make eating difficult, severe trigeminal and occipital neuralgia, crushing fatigue, dysphagia that turns eating into an hour-long ordeal, neuro degeneration and neuromuscular disease diagnosed as ALS unspecified, and waves of symptoms that force me to be bedridden.

Doctors mostly dismissed me as psychosomatic, anxious, or worse. One diagnosis I had to sue to have removed from my record. I spent over $60,000 chasing every treatment the injured community has tried. Nothing gave lasting relief. I became my own doctor , turning to sunlight, grounding, circadian alignment, nature, and my faith in God, which is what carries me when the body wants to quit.

For three years I have spoken out , documenting my journey, writing on X and Substack, calling for acknowledgment, proper diagnostic codes, real care, and accountability for what was done to us. I stand with every vaccine-injured person who has been denied, dismissed, and abandoned.

Yet suddenly the story has gone silent.

People are no longer talking about the people who became severely disabled after one shot. Support has dwindled. The institutions that told us it was safe have offered no honest accounting. No real acknowledgment. No justice.

The reality is that we did not recover when the headlines ended.

We are still here. I am still here.

Still mostly bedridden.

2026 has been brutal.

Still fighting every single day.

Still waiting for the truth to be told.

Je m’appelle Luca, j’ai 29 ans.

À 25 ans, je suis diplômé en ingénierie mécanique. Mention très bien, félicitations académiques, tape dans le dos des proches pendant la fête de diplôme. J’étais persuadé que j’allais conquérir le monde.

Je commence à envoyer des CV. Après trois semaines, une entreprise locale de taille moyenne me contacte. Entretien avec le patron. Il me fait tout son discours sur “l’excellence italienne”, sur le fait qu’ils sont une famille, qu’on travaille dur mais qu’on progresse.

On me propose un stage extra-curriculaire de six mois. 600 euros par mois de “remboursement de frais”. J’accepte. Je me dis : ok, je serre les dents six mois, j’apprends le métier, puis ils m’embauchent.

Ces six mois ont été un enfer. J’arrivais à huit heures du matin, je partais à sept heures du soir. Je faisais des plans sur CAD, je gérais les contacts avec les fournisseurs, je résolvais des problèmes en production. Je faisais, en tout point, le travail d’un ingénieur junior. Mais interdiction de se plaindre : j’étais là “pour apprendre”.

Un jour, je dois aller chez le dentiste, je pars à 18h pile (l’horaire officiel de mon contrat). Le chef d’atelier me voit passer avec ma veste, regarde l’heure et lâche une petite pique devant tout le monde : “Aujourd’hui demi-journée, hein, ingénieur ?”

Arrive la fin des six mois. On me convoque au bureau. Le patron s’assoit derrière son bureau en acajou, pousse un soupir théâtral et me regarde avec un air paternel.
“Luca, tu es un bon garçon, tu es appliqué. Mais tu sais, le marché est difficile, les coûts de l’énergie explosent, on n’a pas le budget pour te mettre en CDI. Mais on croit en toi. On te propose encore six mois de stage à 800 euros, comme ça tu continues ta formation, et ensuite on verra pour un apprentissage.”

Je suis rentré chez moi avec un nœud à la gorge indescriptible. À 26 ans, avec un master en ingénierie, je devais encore demander de l’argent à mon père pour changer les pneus de ma voiture. On me volait littéralement mon temps et ma dignité.

Ce soir-là, je m’enferme dans ma chambre. J’ouvre LinkedIn. J’envoie trois CV en Allemagne. Au hasard, par pure détresse, avec un anglais scolaire.

Une semaine plus tard exactement, je reçois un email d’une multinationale à Stuttgart. Entretien sur Teams.
Je me retrouve devant la caméra en sueur froide. En face, un manager allemand. Il ne me demande pas quel est mon “animal totem”, il ne me parle pas de famille d’entreprise. Il me fait un entretien technique. Il me demande comment je résoudrais un problème de tolérances sur un arbre moteur. Je réponds. Il acquiesce.

Trois jours après, je reçois l’offre officielle par email. Je dois la relire quatre fois, pensant à une erreur.
Pas de stage. Pas de faux apprentissage. Contrat à durée indéterminée. 48 000 euros bruts par an comme salaire de départ. Plus 2 500 euros de prime de relocation non remboursable pour m’aider avec le déménagement et les premières dépenses. Et la responsable RH qui s’excuse en me demandant si un mois de préavis est suffisant ou si j’ai besoin de plus de temps.

Le lendemain, je vais au bureau en Italie. J’annonce au patron que je ne signerai pas le renouvellement du stage car je pars en Allemagne.
Il devient rouge de colère. Il me regarde comme si je venais de lui voler son argenterie. Et il ose me dire : “Les jeunes d’aujourd’hui sont comme ça. Ils fuient à la première difficulté. Ils ne veulent pas faire d’efforts, ils veulent tout tout de suite.”

Aujourd’hui, je vis à Stuttgart depuis trois ans. Je travaille dans un bureau moderne. À 17h, j’éteins mon ordinateur, mon chef passe derrière moi, me salue et me souhaite une bonne soirée. Si je fais des heures supplémentaires, elles sont payées le mois suivant, jusqu’au dernier centime.

Je ne suis pas parti parce que je fuyais les difficultés, comme il le disait. Je suis parti parce que je fuyais les abus.

A 22-year-old graduate student in Kazakhstan got so angry at journal paywalls in 2011 that she built a pirate website holding 88 million scientific papers, and last month she turned the whole thing into an AI that lets you ask one question and get the actual research as the answer.

Her name is Alexandra Elbakyan, and the website is called Sci-Hub.

The AI she just launched is called Sci-Bot. It lives at https://t.co/6w0IBtOEYB and almost nobody outside academia knows it exists yet.

Here is the story, because it is one of the strangest things to happen in science publishing in the last 50 years.

Elbakyan was born in Almaty in 1988, the year the Soviet Union started to collapse. She taught herself programming at 12. She read Soviet science books that explained things her family used to call miracles. She got into computer security at university and graduated in 2009 with a degree she barely needed because by then she was already a serious hacker.

Alexandra moved to Moscow that fall. Then Germany. Then a research internship in the United States. She was working on brain-computer interfaces, the kind of research that requires you to read hundreds of papers a year just to keep up with the field.

And every single one of those papers was locked behind a journal paywall that cost between 30 and 50 dollars to read once.

She did the math. A graduate student in Kazakhstan could not afford to read science.

The first thing she did was learn how to get around the paywalls one paper at a time. She passed the trick around to other students. They asked her for papers constantly. She got tired of doing it manually.

So in September 2011, in three days, she wrote a script that automated the whole thing. A user pastes a DOI. The script logs in through a donated institutional credential. The paper comes back free. The website caches it.

The next person who asks for that paper gets it instantly because the previous request already saved a copy.

That was Sci-Hub. Three days of code. One graduate student. Done.

15 years later, the cache holds 88 million scientific papers. Almost every piece of scholarly literature published before 2020 is sitting on her servers. Researchers in 190 countries use it. Studies in Nature have shown that roughly half of all academic paper downloads worldwide now go through Sci-Hub, not the publishers who actually own the copyrights.

Elsevier sued her in 2015 and won a 15 million dollar judgment. She did not pay. The American Chemical Society sued her and won an injunction. She did not comply. Courts in India, France, Russia, and the UK have tried to block the domain. She just moves it. https://t.co/3sAWJzNe8I. https://t.co/tGIETesZ8i. https://t.co/H5WQ1f9lqR. The site has had over 20 domains and is still up.

Nature put her on its list of the 10 people who mattered most to science in 2016. The New York Times compared her to Edward Snowden. The Verge called her the pirate queen of science.

She has not been to the United States in over a decade because she would be arrested at the airport.

The Sci-Bot launch in April 2026 is the part that nobody is talking about.

She took the 88 million paper database and put a small language model on top of it. You ask a question in plain English. The model searches the entire shadow library, pulls the relevant papers, synthesizes an answer grounded in real citations, and links you to the full text of every source. Free. No login. No institutional credential. No paywall.

Three real scientists tested it for a Chemical and Engineering News article last month. They asked it medical and chemistry questions. The radiologist said the answer he got was usable. The chemist said the gaps in recent literature were obvious but the older science was solid. The publisher community is furious.

What she built is what the paid academic AI tools are trying to build. Except the paid ones are limited to what their parent publisher legally owns. Hers is limited to almost nothing.

Alexandra still lives somewhere in Russia. She does not give her address. She does not do video interviews. She gives talks over Skype with the camera off. She runs the largest illegal library in human history from a laptop and a donation page.

A graduate student who could not afford to read science built the system the entire scientific community now quietly depends on.

The publishers have spent a decade trying to shut her down.

She just shipped an AI that makes their entire business model outdated.

Le séquençage complet du génome, confirmé simultanément par l'INRB à Kinshasa et le laboratoire de Kampala, établit que la variante Bundibugyo qui circule en Ituri ne dérive ni de l'épidémie ougandaise de 2007 ni de celle d'Isiro en 2012. C'est un spillover direct, un passage de l'animal à l'homme depuis un réservoir forestier encore non identifié. Muyembe le dit clairement : l'infirmier de Rwampara, mort le 24 avril, n'est probablement pas le cas index. Quelqu'un d'autre a contracté le virus en forêt avant lui.

Le test de terrain n'est pas conçu pour détecter ce virus

Le GeneXpert, outil de diagnostic rapide très utilisé en RDC, est spécifique à la souche Zaïre. Face à Bundibugyo, il a donné un résultat négatif sur tous les échantillons testés, y compris ceux confirmés positifs par d'autres méthodes. C'est une limite technique du test, pas une erreur humaine. Elle a contribué au retard de détection, avec d'autres facteurs : des échantillons arrivés à Kinshasa en petite quantité et sans respect de la chaîne de froid, un premier test négatif à Bunia, et des équipes de terrain formées à chercher Zaïre en priorité. Bundibugyo ne circule que pour la troisième fois dans l'histoire. Il est rare. Et les outils disponibles ne sont pas tous calibrés pour le reconnaître.

L'épidémie s'étend : 6 zones touchées

En une seule journée, la cartographie de l'épidémie a changé. Butembo-Katwa au Nord-Kivu, Nyankunde en Ituri et Goma s'ajoutent aux zones déjà touchées. Six zones sont désormais officiellement affectées. Parmi les nouveaux cas confirmés figure un médecin américain, prélevé à Bunia. Le bilan des morts suspects est passé de 80 vendredi à 118 ce lundi selon le porte-parole du gouvernement Patrick Muyaya.

Ni vaccin, ni traitement. Et les outils contre Zaïre ne servent probablement pas

Bundibugyo ne dispose d'aucun vaccin ni traitement spécifique approuvé. Muyembe est explicite : être vacciné contre Ebola Zaïre ne protège probablement pas contre cette variante. Pas de preuve de protection croisée. Le traitement est palliatif. Le molnupiravir est évoqué comme piste possible, sous réserve d'autorisation de l'OMS. Des candidats vaccins et des molécules pourraient être proposés pour des essais cliniques d'ici fin mai ou début juin selon Muyembe.

La réponse internationale se durcit, mais les moyens manquent sur le terrain

L'OMS a déclaré une urgence de santé publique de portée internationale le 17 mai. L'UA, l'EAC, Africa CDC, la Banque mondiale sont mobilisés. Les États-Unis ont suspendu toutes leurs opérations de visas à Kampala. Mais à Mongwalu, un médecin de MSF dit qu'il manque de tout : médicaments, équipements de protection, épidémiologistes. Oxfam va plus loin : les coupes dans l'aide humanitaire ont affaibli les systèmes de surveillance et retardé la détection de l'épidémie de plusieurs semaines. C'est la tension centrale de cette crise. La mobilisation est réelle. Les moyens sur le terrain ne suivent pas encore.

JUST IN: Brian Armstrong just fired 693 people. Their work continues without them. The systems that replaced them have stablecoin wallets.

On May 5, Coinbase announced a 14% workforce reduction, cutting roughly 693 of its 4,951 employees. Armstrong posted the full internal email on X. The framing is not downcycle survival. It is permanent structural redesign. Engineers who refused to adopt AI tools after Coinbase secured enterprise licenses for Copilot and Cursor were already terminated. This round eliminates the roles AI has rendered unnecessary. Armstrong described the target state in words that should stop every labor economist on earth: “Rebuilding Coinbase as an intelligence, with humans around the edge aligning it.”

Read that again. The intelligence is the center. Humans are the periphery. This is not a metaphor. It is the org chart.

Coinbase’s AI agents already write more than 50% of all code shipped by the company. They resolve 60% of customer support tickets autonomously. They operate with their own programmatically controlled wallets funded in stablecoins, executing on-chain transactions without human intervention. On Binance, AI agents triggered 45.7% of all platform activity on a recent day in April. On OKX, the Agent Trade Kit processes 1.2 billion API calls daily across 60 chains and 500 decentralized exchanges.

Now trace the closed loop. Coinbase’s AI agents build the exchange by writing more than half its code. Other AI agents trade on the exchange, triggering 45% of activity on Binance alone. Both sides have wallets. Both earn. Both transact in stablecoins. The human is being removed from production and consumption simultaneously. The exchange is becoming a machine talking to machines, with 693 fewer humans in between.

This is not a layoff story. This is the first operational template of the closed loop Mo Gawdat described. “The very base of capitalism, which is labor arbitrage, to hire you for a dollar and then sell what you make for two, is going to disappear.” Gawdat was describing a theoretical future. Armstrong just executed it as a quarterly restructuring. The AI builds the product. The AI uses the product. The AI earns from the product. Six hundred and ninety-three humans stop receiving paychecks. At Coinbase’s scale this is a rounding error. At the scale of every company following this template, it is a structural event. Coinbase is not the economy. Coinbase is the proof of concept.

Armstrong acknowledged the process will feel “sudden and harsh.” Affected employees learned their status via personal email because system access was severed simultaneously. In the same hour those humans lost access, the AI systems they built continued writing code and closing tickets without interruption.

BTC is trading near $80,000, down from $126,000 in October 2025. Coinbase grew headcount 31% in 2025 while revenue grew 9.4%, so this round partially undoes an overhire. But Armstrong explicitly stated these roles are not coming back. In prior winters, Coinbase cut 18% in 2022 and 20% in 2023, then rehired aggressively when markets recovered. This time, the jobs are being replaced by “AI-native pods” and “one-person teams” where a single human directs a fleet of agents. The next bull market will be served by a fundamentally different entity than the one that served the last one.

Coinbase earnings are May 7. The $667 million question is whether the market prices the humans who left or the machines that stayed.

BREAKING: President Trump just told 450 million Europeans: sign my deal by Thursday or I cut your gas. And if you think this is impulsive, you are not paying attention. This is the most calculated energy play in American history.

Qatar’s LNG is offline. Force Majeure. Ras Laffan shut after Iranian drones hit it on Day 3. Seventeen percent of global LNG capacity gone for 3 to 5 years. Russia’s pipeline gas to Europe was severed after Ukraine. Norway is maxed. Europe’s LNG prices have surged 35 to 50 percent since Hormuz closed. One supplier remains at scale: the United States. Trump’s ambassador to the EU just told the Parliament: ratify the $750 billion trade deal without amendments by Thursday March 26, or lose “favorable access” to American LNG.

Now decode the strategic geopolitical chess game which is being played in realtime.

Saturday night, Trump posted a 48-hour ultimatum threatening to obliterate Iranian power plants. That was not about Iran. That was about oil prices. He needed them high enough to terrify Europe into ratifying the LNG deal, but not so high that American consumers revolted before the midterms. The ultimatum spiked Brent past $113 and WTI past $100 on Sunday. Monday morning, Trump posted about “productive conversations” and paused the power plant strikes for five days. Oil crashed over 10 percent in hours. WTI hit $89. The S&P surged $2 trillion.

He spiked oil to create the fear. Then crashed it to create the relief. The fear makes Europe sign. The relief makes American voters forgive the war. Both moves serve the same president. Both happened within 36 hours. Both were executed with social media posts, not missiles.

The $750 billion deal is the permanent monetisation of Europe’s energy vulnerability. LNG. Oil. Civil nuclear. Locked in until 2028. The EU had been delaying ratification for months. Three wars removed every alternative: Iran removed Qatar, Ukraine removed Russia, Norway’s geology removed Norway. What remains is American LNG. Trump is not selling gas. He is selling the absence of alternatives.

The 5-day power-plant pause expires Saturday March 28. The EU Parliament votes Thursday March 26. Europe must ratify American energy dependency two days before the war might escalate again. If the pause collapses Saturday and Iran executes Ghalibaf’s promise to “irreversibly destroy” regional energy infrastructure, European LNG prices spike after the deal is already signed. Trump gets the $750 billion commitment at crisis pricing, then potentially triggers the next crisis 48 hours later. The deal locks in before the leverage expires.

This is Trump Doctrine in its purest form. He does not separate trade from security from energy from markets. He operates them as one instrument. The war degrades Iran. The degradation closes Hormuz. The closure spikes energy. The spike terrifies Europe. The terror forces the deal. The deal locks in $750 billion. The pause crashes oil. The crash rallies stocks. The rally preserves midterm support. Every move funds the next move.

He used the words “Department of War” in the pause announcement. Not Defence. The pre-1947 name. The name that tells Europe: the man offering you gas can resume bombing power plants on Saturday.

Yesterday Russia signed a deal to build Vietnam’s first nuclear plant. Today Trump threatens to cut Europe’s gas. Two great powers selling energy security to two desperate continents during the same war. Both profit from the crisis. Both lock in decades of dependency. Both timed the offer to the moment the customer cannot refuse.

The strait closed the alternatives. The ultimatum created the fear. The pause created the relief. The deal monetises both. Thursday is payday.

There was zero public indication this announcement was coming. No leaks. No press. Nothing. The only people who knew were in the room when the decision was made.

Someone in that room picked up a phone.
And within minutes they made more money than most Americans will earn in a thousand lifetimes. In a single trade. On a war that cost you $4+ a gallon gas and $16 billion in tax dollars.

American citizens funded this war. Politicians are profiting from it.

This is not the first time. Every major announcement from this administration has had massive suspicious trades right before it dropped. Tariff reversals. Policy shifts. War decisions.

This is the most blatant insider trading operation in the history of American politics. It’s not even close. And it’s happening over and over in broad daylight.

You would go to federal prison for trading on a tip from your cousin. These people are front running war decisions with billion dollar bets and nobody will ever ask a single question.

Nobody will be investigated. Nobody will be charged. By tomorrow this will be buried under the next satisfying headline. Just like last time. And the time before that.
