‼️ FEMA director, Cameron Hamilton let me set up a Zoom call where six WNC families could speak directly to him.
He listened. He apologized. He ended with, “don’t thank me. I work for you.” @FEMA_Cam Thank you!

After storms like #Helene and #Milton, collaboration with county, state and federal agencies is essential. In western N.C., for example, road and bridge repair by @NCDOT allowed our crews to access Bakersville, N.C., for the first time this week – faster than initially expected.
#HeleneNC Mission of the Day
The aviation community’s response has been remarkable. Teams from NC airports, along with out-of-state volunteers, came together to support those impacted in Western NC. Thank you for your dedication and teamwork in this recovery!
Working as one united community, #HeleneNC recovery and rebuilding efforts are pulling in every available resource from across NC and beyond.

Yesterday, members of the Tennessee National Guard’s 45th Civil Support Team conducted essential assessments of soil contamination in Erwin, Tennessee, as part of the relief efforts for Hurricane Helene. This rapid-response unit, consisting of both Air and Army National Guardsmen, showcased their expertise and dedication to public safety by collecting and testing soil samples. Their efforts aimed to safeguard the health and well-being of the affected communities.
