Even if you don’t believe climate change is man affected… the actions we need to reduce it leave us with clean air, less pollution , clean waters and cheap secure energy? Why the anger against that?
@RHarrabin@Buzz_dont_tweet @RSPBNews My windscreen was covered in bugs driving to Liverpool a few weeks ago, but around the east Midlands nothing at all. I had a duck come right up to my van which ate as much brown bread as I would give it (have since bought bird seed and oats).
If you want to reduce your carbon footprint, focus on what you eat, not whether your food is local.
The chart shows why: transport tends to account for only a small share of greenhouse gas emissions — the differences between different food choices are much larger.
This obsession with ‘working hard’ and ‘hard working families’ is depressingly Victorian. We live in an age of machines that can do all that stuff for us. People should be having more diverse and more fulfilled lives, not grinding away until they die.
It's not just a general election we need. It's a complete democratic makeover. It should begin with getting the money out of politics, and full financial transparency for everyone in public life.
@rsb90 You didn't mention it was surplus so I assumed it was unusable. The recycling centers don't recycle paint, they just dispose of it safely (which is very expensive, hence the reduced service). Reuse is always the best option of course, but if it can't be then this is a way out.
It's not a cost of living crisis so much as a rip-off crisis.
People are being ripped off by energy companies, ripped off by landlords, ripped off by a government that channels benefits to the rich while watching the poor slide into destitution.
@PebbleMagazine Have discovered today that a wet buff worn as a headband is even better, especially when paired with a breeze - even if the breeze is hot the cold buff is still activated 😁
