Great to be back with the Barnsley LA KS2 writing moderation team today for our first training session of the new year, co-leading alongside @RachelKnoxBooks at @hcat_learning HQ. Such a brilliant bunch to work with ✍️

So, so proud of ASPS. We work so hard to do right by our children and I’m so glad that this comes through in our OFSTED report 💙
Broken: Rock, Paper, Scissors - Literacy Shed. Such a gorgeous video and a great hook for writing. The children chose one of the three characters (Rock, Paper or Scissors) and wrote from their perspective. This is one as Rock. 🪨 📄✂️. #y6writing#greathook#firstpieceoftheyear
Enjoyed working with some colleagues in Barnsley today thinking about our English curriculums with a focus on purpose and audience. Thanks to @jodstan88 for helping create the training and @Georgina_Flet to help deliver! #barnsleyisbrill#EnglishTeacher
After an exhausting OFSTED inspection, I honestly feel like I’ve aged 10 years in the last two days. However, what a team the ASPS massive are!! So proud of where I work and the people I work with. 💙. And breathe!!!
Purpose: to write two diary entries.
1st one: as Ahmet on his first day at school.
2nd one: as Alexa when it’s Ahmet’s first day at school. @OnjaliRauf
As a class, we absolutely loved this book. #refugee#learning#bekind#theboyatthebackoftheclass
Non-chron reports using the children’s interest: POKÉMON.
Kids designed their own Pokémon and then given two different scenarios.
1. Become a Pokémon Specialist & present their findings for other Pokémon Specialists.
2. Now present their work for a KS1 audience.
