Buried the lede a bit but what we also found is a digital trail to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Three accounts used by Doppelganger were accessed by an IP that we were able to link to the ministry and an internet provider owned by it
There’s zero evidence that NATO chief Mark Rutte has said he’ll kick US out of the alliance if Trump surrenders Ukraine to Russia.
The quote leads to pro-Kremlin sites and channels on Telegram.
Rutte actually said after 5 Nov election he is looking forward to working with Trump.
Pro-Kremlin bots are happy to see their fake videos debunked by FBI:
Once FBI started to issue statements debunking fake videos (Nov 02/03 night), Kremlin virtually stopped to impersonate reputable media brands.
All to make FBI and CIA exclusive targets for their fake videos.
There's a video going around of Ukrainian soldiers burning Trump in effigy. The same accounts sharing it now shared it back in May.
They're just repurposing old content.
Pro-Russia and conspiracy accounts are passing around this video allegedly showing Ukranian soldiers shooting at a mannequin in Trump gear.
The original video has 3M views.
@daithaigilbert Spotted a small network getting in on the action, too. The most popular post has nearly 1M views now. There's around a dozen of these floating around.
🧩As in previous U.S. election cycles, Russia-linked influence operations have attempted to spread false and inflammatory claims online using deceptive practices.
Something else that remains the same: They want our attention and they are trolling us.
This video is Russian, Storm-1516 disinformation. No one was attacked at a polling station in Wisconsin. The video is created in a manner consistent with past Storm narratives and @AlertChannel is an account Terada's R-FBI has used consistently for distribution.
A small win for democracy, but I'll take it.
Mira Terada, head of the Russian Foundation for Battling Injustice, has been suspended after posting election disinformation two days ago. Her organization is responsible for disseminating Storm-1516 false narratives.
“AlphaFox said the staged Georgia video wasn’t the first time he was paid to post content on his X account. On roughly 10 other occasions, Boikov paid him $100 to post memes and videos on the account, he said.”
CNN is reporting that the viral fake video of "Haitian" men voting multiple times for Harris Georgia was shared after @AussieCossack (Simeon Boikov), a frequent @SputnikInt guest, paid a right-wing influencer $100.
Boikov's account was just suspended.

NEW to @scrippsnews: Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes confirms that his office is tracking what he believes to be a Russian disinformation video meant to influence the election in Arizona - he calls it “a stupid, ham-handed attempt I think by our foreign adversaries.”
Well, that didn't take much time. A new video of someone claiming to be from Fontes' office just dropped, accusing Fontes of manipulating the election in favor of Harris.
Doesn't appear to have gained much traction.
The Foundation to Battle Injustice—a Prigozhin-linked disinfo outfit—just published a long piece outlining a range of false election-related narratives and naming targets in key swing states.
I’d expect a Russian disinfo push around these individuals.
Please . . . tell us again, Tara, how wrong CNN was for accusing you of spreading Russian disinformation!
Also, will you ask @MiraMiru4 why they chose to put a bottle of Taco Bell hot sauce in the background? Is that the best they could do to make it look like the real Arizona?
Based on our findings, as covered by @LarsWienand:
On Nov 1, three of the best-known and most influential pro-Ukraine voices in Germany became a target of a smear campaign using fake videos impersonating @ForeignPolicy--all posted by pro-Kremlin Matryoshka bots:
The Foundation to Battle Injustice—a Prigozhin-linked disinfo outfit—just published a long piece outlining a range of false election-related narratives and naming targets in key swing states.
I’d expect a Russian disinfo push around these individuals.
The FBI has warned of two fake videos circulating online aimed at casting doubt around the US presidential election.
These videos are v likely part of a wider Russian campaign @Shayan86 and I’ve been tracking for a long time 🧵 https://t.co/MKM1mWO8Gb
To reiterate: we confidently attribute both of the videos referred to by @FBI as belonging to Matryoshka, a Russian state influence operation, which is ongoing since Sept 2023.
My team first exposed the operation in Jan 2024, as covered by AFP: https://t.co/Hpvb2MmA41
