The only software engineers who will be eliminated are the ones who think they don't need coding and engineering skills because "AI does everything now."

It's the same as with calculators but times 1000. You still need to learn arithmetic, algebra, calculus, and learn to solve problems manually, even if you use a calculator most of the time.

The same goes with software engineering. You will use AI coding agents abundantly, but you still need to stay sharp when it comes to coding and software design.

If AI is making all the decisions and you're just smashing Enter and writing LGTM, you will be replaced by AI.
