I'm interested in what loopholes you're referring to.
In terms of the article, one political scientist is arguing that Liberals could actually do better with electoral reform:
"Pilon says Liberals in particular would benefit from ranked ballots because they would likely have more people willing to rate them in second place, whereas the Conservatives have fewer 'adjacent parties' to draw from"
Congratulations to incoming Prime Minister Carney.
Lots of important work to be done. Let’s come together, roll up our sleeves, and build a thriving Canada. 🇨🇦
Another successful AVICC convention in Nanaimo!
It's a great opportunity to network with local government people from across Vancouver Island and coastal communities, debate policy, learn new things, and sharpen my skills to deliver for #Parksville.
Attending the Federation of Canadian Municipalities meetings virtually this morning (and yesterday).
#FCM serves as a vital platform for municipalities across Canada to advocate to the federal government.
In these times, collaboration has never been more crucial! 💪
Have you heard about "The Great Green Wall"?
This ambitious project aims to convert 100 million hectares of degraded land into lush green landscapes – with all kinds of local and international benefits.

NEW - BC's deficit to rise to $9.4 billion, according to 2nd quarter results today from minister Brenda Bailey. New record high in provincial history.
It's a $1.48b increase from January budget, and $429m from 1st quarter update in September.
Gov blames declining revenue (income tax, natural resources) and increasing expenses (healthcare).
In Ottawa this week for @FCM_online board meeting & advocacy days w/incredible colleagues across the country working hard to advocate for the communities we serve. Cities and Towns bear the brunt of the housing and encampment crisis, maintain the majority of infrastructure and respond daily to growing public safety issues, most of which is paid for by property taxes. We can’t do it alone.
We need all orders of government to collaborate with municipalities in our efforts to respond to these growing issues.

Traveling to Ottawa for FCM meetings and advocacy days. Looking forward to some productive work on behalf of local government — plus it’s my first time visiting our nation’s capital! 🍁

Many memories of my 3 kids with Sandy Shores Skating Club at Oceanside Place Arena.
That's why it was a fun honour to represent #Parksville Mayor and Council in handing out medals at the 2025 Skate Canada BC/Yukon Territory Super Series Sectionals! 🏅⛸
Coming up on November 18:
Public Hearing on Lions Housing Project for 1225 Franklin’s Gull Rd
I've set up an info page about the proposal:
https://t.co/8EdXTjveV5…
I may also add an FAQ so that everyone has the best possible information about the proposal before the public hearing.
Please add your questions in the comments (or dm me).
You can also email council on this (or any #Parksville matter).
I’m saddened by the news of former Premier John Horgan's passing.
In a time when politics often divides, he prioritized our province over party lines. He exemplified leadership: a willingness to listen, working to find common ground, and taking responsibility.
Thanks for your service to British Columbia.

Very sad to hear the news of John Horgan’s passing. He was a principled leader who cared deeply about getting it right for all British Colombians. My thoughts are with his family.
