My kids have been asking a lot of questions about the election. Among the most interesting:
Why would someone feel so strongly that they'd want to shoot someone they disagree with?
Why would Biden even want to stay in the race?
What will it be like if either of these guys win?
@_samantha_joy I love this age-range! My 12 and 13 year-olds are hilarious and creative and whip smart. They're also moody and confusing and changing so fast that no one can keep up.
@RyanPuzycki Would love to see it accessible by the red line. It wasn't quite smooth yet when we took it to an Austin FC game because the rider count was higher than it's built for, but having 81 baseball games + events create enough ridership revenue that improvements could be made.
@flowidealism I was the youngest of 4 and my older siblings were required to take piano lessons. I was given the option and declined, and it’s one of my regrets!
The caveats here are that over time sharing experiences worth doing, I’ve earned their trust and also that if they don’t like it, I don’t force them to do it forever.
People learn when they opt in to learning.
Kids don’t always know if they want to opt in to learning something until they have started experiencing it.
So sometimes I force my kids to do something they wouldn’t choose to.
@zeldapoem@arnaudschenk Ah yes! Didn’t know you were going, Arnaud! Hope you have a blast and connect with fascinating people there.
I won’t make it this time, but look forward to the next time we’re in the same place!
I have no tattoos.
I have no strong feelings for or against having tattoos.
But I do know what I would get if I did get one and I'm turning 40 soon, so it seems like this should be my mid-life crisis action.
Any recommendations?
