I don't want to make a martyr of the Fort Hood terrorist. @POTUS@SecWar if you really want to deter future Islamist terrorists, use fear and shame in their executions. All-female firing squads with bullets dipped in bacon fat.
Facts Matter, Vote Wisely in the Midterms. Significant progress has been made and will only get better. Hating President Trump and wanting him to be impeached will not improve you and your family’s lives from a financial or safety point of view. Republicans are far from perfect but they are determined to improve kitchen table concerns.
In September, the Census Bureau reported that median household income reached $87,460 in 2025. That is the highest figure since the government began tracking it in 1967, and it rose 2.6 percent in a single year. Income after taxes climbed even faster, up 3.1 percent.
Black households saw some of the strongest gains of any group, with median income up 4.8 percent. Median earnings for working women rose 3.2 percent. Women now earn about 84 cents for every dollar men earn, up from about 81 cents a year earlier.
The same report showed poverty falling to the lowest rate ever recorded. The official poverty rate dropped to 10.2 percent, the second straight year of decline.
Child poverty also hit a record low of 13.4 percent, and poverty among Hispanic Americans fell to a historic low. Behind each of those numbers are families who now have a little more room to breathe.
Tax relief is adding to those gains. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which President Trump signed in 2025, ended federal income tax on tips and on overtime pay.
It raised the standard deduction and expanded the child tax credit to $2,200 per child. Seniors received an extra deduction of up to $6,000, and families who buy an American-made car can now deduct the interest on their auto loan.
Working people felt that relief at tax time this spring. IRS data showed the average refund reached $3,521 by late March, about 11 percent higher than a year earlier.
For a waitress, a nurse working double shifts, or a retiree on a fixed income, that extra money pays for real things. Not a single Democrat in the House or the Senate voted for that law.
Violent crime fell 9.3 percent in 2025, according to the FBI. That was the largest one-year drop in the national violent crime rate the FBI has ever recorded.
Murder fell 18.1 percent, bringing the murder rate down to 4.1 per 100,000 people. That ties the lowest rate since national estimates began, a level last seen in 1955 and 1956.
The decline reached well beyond murder. Robbery fell 18.5 percent and burglary fell 15.8 percent.
Car thefts dropped 22.7 percent, and property crime as a whole fell 12.4 percent. Neighborhoods that spent years living with break-ins and carjackings are finally getting some peace.
President Trump sent federal law enforcement and the National Guard into the nation's capital in August 2025, and D.C. is far safer for it.
About 4,700 Guard members now patrol the city alongside local and federal officers. Since the surge began, law enforcement has made more than 16,000 arrests and seized nearly 2,000 illegal guns.
In the first half of 2026, homicides in the city fell 41 percent from a year earlier, and carjackings dropped 63 percent. Researchers at the Council on Criminal Justice project that D.C. will finish the year with its lowest homicide rate in more than a century.
The capital is cleaner and better kept as well.
According to the White House, crews have fixed 1,695 lights, installed or restored 1,143 benches, repaired 22 fountains, and cleared 152 homeless encampments. Workers are restoring the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and the fountains in Lafayette Park are running again.
The cascading fountain at Meridian Hill Park flowed this spring for the first time in about seven years.
Illegal crossings at the southern border have collapsed.
From October through December of 2025, Border Patrol logged the fewest encounters ever recorded at the start of a fiscal year.
December brought the lowest count for any December on record. Border Patrol also went at least eight straight months without releasing a single illegal crosser into the country.
@MilenaAmit@MichelleMaxwell An accusation is not the same as a conviction. The democrats accuse people that don't agree with them of the most heinous crimes all the time.
