We always try to stop by firehouses in Europe when traveling. A German engine crew showed off their truck and I was amazed by how much equipment they had stuffed into that relatively small truck (had 5 seats, too). Same for a bunch of equipment we saw in Provence. Many trucks built on Sprinter size chassis. However, they carry a lot less water than we carry on rural engines. And they need to traverse much narrower city streets.
@elsathora Whenever we are traveling we stop by local firehouses. Yes, the European equipment is generally quite a bit smaller but the packaging is really good - they manage to fit a lot of capacity on to smaller trucks. We also carry a lot more water with us, especially in rural areas.
After 11 years with us Scotch passed in his sleep. We had a wonderful time with him; he loved every dog and person he ever met. Lola is OK for now, but I think soon it’ll be time to visit the county shelter again and see what dog might fit in. We sort of hoped that one day a dog would pass quietly in their sleep but found out it wasn’t any easier. RIP good boy.
