One of the coolest African bugs I've ever found in the wild, Lethocerus cordofanus, Giant water bug!
They are predators who stab prey with starp modified mouth parts, injecting a venomous saliva. They also bite in self-defense, and it's very painful to humans... believe me. 😬🤣

The American #croc &Morelet’s croc are two species occurring sympatrically in #Belize. Although both species may look alike, they differ morphologically from one another; a diagnostic feature of the American croc is their preorbital hump as you can see on this adult male
