@_Derekwilliamss Whoever signs Derek Williams is going to make every other organization look dumb.
The kid works his tail off. Nothing but great things to say about him not just as a player, but as a person. He’s the type of guy who shows up every day 100% and makes others around him better.
The biggest thing baseball taught me:
It’s life in a uniform.
Good days, bad days, and everything in between. Let go of what you can’t control. And commit to what you can. Your effort, attitude and response to failures will continue to shape who you are. So keep stacking days.
Want to play college baseball at a HIGH level?
The past two weeks I watched:
#2 LSU vs Notre Dame
#9 Florida vs #24 Miami
Here’s the reality of what that level actually looks like.
A THREAD:🧵
I love ballparks in the heart of downtown but I get why that’s not always realistic anymore.
Philly nailed the alternative: every team in one sports complex, tons of parking, elite tailgating, built-in bar scene & the city skyline in the background. No other city does sports like this (maybe Detroit in a sense).
Super efficient setup for a major city.
This story blows parents’ minds every time.
This athlete out-hit Max Clark as a junior… Played on a lineup with 8 Power-4 commits… Threw 93 from the outfield, 106 exit velo, 6.6 sixty, 6'2 / 200 lbs…
And still had nothing.
Why? Because recruiting isn’t about numbers alone. It’s about when you show up.
When he finally went to camp ready it took 13 minutes. One call. One decision. Now he plays every day as a true freshman and is an All-American.
This is the mistake parents make: They chase exposure before development is finished.
Recruiting rewards readiness not noise.
Build first. Then go get noticed.
