Last week, @Ascensionorg was named one of the most dangerous places to work by @NationalCOSH — and nurses know exactly why.
We will continue to use our #UnionStrong voice to demand better for ourselves and our patients! ✊
I have had many relatives, especially my late maternal grandmother, receive treatment at St. Joes and I can tell you that the nurses there deserve everything they are asking for. Please support @joesunionnurses#Solidarity
We were out again today picketing Ascension. It’s been more than a year since we started negotiations but we won’t stop fighting until we win a contract that protects patients and nurses. We are so powerful together!
Our union stands in solidarity with these doctors who are facing termination by Ascension Illinois. They have come into work every day to save lives and don't deserve this mistreatment. Shame on Ascension.
Private Equity is taking over emergency rooms.
Doctors told us that when firms like Blackstone start buying up emergency care they have to care for more patients, and spend less time with those patients.
Then patients start seeing shockingly high bills.

Today we filed a lawsuit against Ascension health for refusing to pay our nurses for overtime they worked in November. Over 90 of our coworkers were promised incentive pay then told they wouldn’t receive after we were locked out of the hospital. We want justice!
WWJ Executive Director Marcos Ceniceros spoke at Thursday night’s community town hall to show our #solidarity with @joesunionnurses calling on Ascension to return to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair contract that puts #peopleoverprofit. ✊🏼
We just wrapped day one of our ULP strike protesting Ascension’s implementation of an offer we rejected. You can join us on the line tomorrow and through the weekend or stop by our town hall tonight at 7pm at the Joliet downtown library!
Ascension has illegally implemented its last offer despite nurses overwhelmingly voting it down. We can’t allow this company to put our lives and licenses at risk, so we’re going out strike.
Despite the fact that childbirth-related mortality has been on the rise nationwide for a decade, @Ascensionorg has cut a quarter of its labor and delivery units. Data shows this impacts low-income, Black, and Latine patients disproportionately.

The nurses at Ascension St. Joseph-- Joliet are voting on the latest proposal from the hospital which it calls its "last best and final offer" on Dec. 18 and 19. The union is recommending a no vote and wants to continue bargaining. | Click the image to... https://t.co/10OLX6VDux
The nurses of St. Joe’s have voted overwhelmingly to reject the “last, best and final” proposal we received from Ascension. We are calling on our employer to return to the table and negotiate with us so we can reach a deal that is fair for everyone.
