@CptHastings1916 Agree of course on the nagging, but surely this is more than ‘a bit hot’? I know we all have different heat tolerances but we’re due to be hotter than the hottest day of the 95 heatwave for the next three days.
@JimStaples@England I had a similar experience during Euro 96. I was 10 and went to bed before extra time. My left a note in the kitchen that said ‘they lost!’ for me - the exclamation mark made it especially hard to take.
@BarclayCard18 It was that 08 US Open semi against Nadal that convinced me. I couldn’t believe how well he played against one of the world’s best players.
@stusfootyflash I watched this with my Dad aged 10. When this happened I desperately asked him ‘Dad, is football always like this?’ ‘Basically, yes.’ he sighed
the absolute biggest challenge for humanity over the next 2-3 generations, to prevent complete annihilation of the human race, is to offer a vision for the world more incentivizing than just laying in your bed staring at your phone. and we're currently failing at it.
I think one thing to know about your 30s is that if you’re alone and childfree/dogfree and not career-obsessed, most of your friends will be too busy for you and you’ll have to get real comfortable doing the things you want to do by yourself
13 years ago today, Andy Murray beat Roger Federer in the semifinals of the Australian Open in what I consider to be one of the most underrated matches of all time. 🔥
This was the first and only time Murray would defeat Federer at a major...
@shitbritishpics saw this and thought of you ‘Judy Murray poses with her son Andy Murray of Scotland and his Madame Tussauds wax figure at The Boodles Challenge tennis tournament at The Stoke Park Club on June 20, 2007 in Slough’
it honestly comforts me that we’re collectively coming to the realization that this level of Phone All the Time is unsustainable and making us worse. maybe naive but i hope this is the beginning of a quieter, slower era where we all look up and return to ourselves and each other
