The @whitesox are the only MLB team in the modern era to:
collect 10+ hits
score 10+ runs
draw 10+ walks
strike out 15+ batters
allow no more than 1 run
allow no more than 1 walk
...all in the same game.
Big Saturday morning news dump from Justin Ishbia's development company, officially staking a claim for a new Sox ballpark in what they're calling The Railyards next to The 78. Here are some renderings. Story coming.
Guardians lose, so the #WhiteSox stay 3.0 games up despite losing 4 of their last 5.
Astros are only 1.5 back from the No. 2 seed now, which is almost as important as the division.
Houston also has the tiebreaker over Chicago.
Amazing isn’t it … get quality out of the rotation … and then you can deploy the bullpen leverage arms as needed … Sean Burke was his old self after the 2nd inning … and Will could finally use that bullpen the way he’d like …. The @whitesox needed this Burke in the worst way … he’s the “key” to winning the Central and October baseball for the Sox. That’s just my opinion. Sox win 5-1 & keep +3 game lead over Cleveland.
For the first time this season, the White Sox are 8 games over .500.
Their magic number to clinch the AL Central-- 25.
They are going to be a playoff team and it's basically a two team race for the division title.
Their longest losing streak all year is 4.
Caleb Bonemer, the No. 2 White Sox prospect and No. 30 overall, per @MLBPipeline, will start some games in center field later this week for @BhamBarons. He'll continue that work, along with his infield work, during the Arizona Fall League. Story to come on https://t.co/zD1zshtNwG
"A big reason why the @whitesox are sitting in first place is they have gotten so much from positional guys in their rookie class."
@Joelsherman1 highlights the play of Munetaka Murakami, Tristan Peters, Braden Montgomery and more on #MLBCentral.
Re last night Cubs/Sox finish and the difference between a vet on the mound and a rookie. Murakami leads off the 10th for the Sox. With a base open, Jacob Webb drops a curve strike on him but gives him nothing else to hit and walks him on the next 4 pitches. If he chases, great. If not, move on.
Next inning, same scenario, Hagen Smith sneaks a fastball by PCA at 2-0 which both gets PCA's attention and also emboldens Smith, thinking he's back in the AB. Then he goes nearly middle/middle with a slider and PCA hits it out. (Should have walked him at 2-0 if not to start the AB).
The two best hitters on each team treated differently.
The more they ask these young players … the more they deliver … bullpen was air tight again … The @whitesox deliver again …. 4-3 winners in middle game of 3 game set in Motown. Burke looms tomorrow … thinking 🧹What says you?
