@henrymcmaster@DarlineGrahamSC Her complete loyalty to Trump is why I would never vote for her. Trump is not remotely "America First". Trump is 100% Trump first and one of the most corrupt presidents in history. That's not what is best for SC or the country.
There was a time, maybe six or eight years ago, where Ossoff's comments about Natalie Harp would have had me up in arms. But I'm so numbed by what the sitting president and many of the people in this screenshot have said/done in the last decade that it genuinely commands nothing more than a brief moment of my attention.
Crude and unfair to her? Absolutely. Yet also not even remotely in the ballpark of the stuff we get on a daily basis from POTUS and from the right-wing media ecosystem in this graphic. And the pearl-clutching, after a decade of defending him, is so inauthentic as to be embarrassing.
@ThrillaRilla369 There are stalls. I don't care if I'm actively using the restroom, I don't care if a dad with young daughters brings them in. I don't get how this stops anyone from using the restroom. You'd also have to wait if there were a lot of women in line ahead of you.
Redistricting is a 2-year process done every 10 years following the census. But because Trump is scared out of his mind about possibly being held accountable, SC Republicans are slamming a 2-year job into one week to get rid of the only Dem congressman. For Trump. Not for SC.
@PamelaEvette It is their graduation and you made it all about you. Instead of promising to make a non-political speech or bowing out gracefully when it was clear the students didn't want a MAGA speaker, you insulted them. You handled this whole situation horribly and will lose votes.
I haven't seen anyone tracking all of the alleged (or open) Trump corruption, self-dealing, and quid pro quos in one place. For the last 15 months, I've been tracking every single tip+story I can find and organizing it. Today, I published a 6,000 word piece with every example.
@TXPSALM55@james_IA76@StevieWestAgain According to the National Archives, the Selected Service registration requirement was suspended in April 1975 and was not reinstated until 1980 under Carter.
It is hard to name the kind of grief you feel as you watch the Christian movement that raised you continually justify the most vile things, all for the sake of power, influence, and money.
It’s hard to name the grief of knowing that there is nothing so vile they won’t justify.
I’ve been asked about my updated thoughts now that now that newly released footage from January 13, 2026 shows Alex Pretti in a heated confrontation with immigration agents. In the video, he is seen yelling, spitting in their direction, and kicking a vehicle taillight until it breaks. Agents then bring him to the ground, and during the struggle his concealed firearm becomes visible. For reasons still unexplained, the agents leave the scene without arresting him or even removing the firearm. Which in my mind raises serious concerns & questions regarding the training of immigration agents.
The footage shows Alex making poor criminal decisions that day. That should have been handled through the legal system like any other crime. Arrest, charges, court, due process. That is how accountability works in our country.
What it does NOT do is justify what happened later.
Nothing in that earlier incident changes the fact that Alex Pretti was killed by government agents after being disarmed. Nothing erases the reality that he was entitled to due process. Nothing makes street level, unilateral government use of lethal force an acceptable substitute for a courtroom, a defense attorney, and a jury.
We are a nation of laws. Guilt is decided in court, not on asphalt.
It is also deeply disturbing that the public was told Alex was a “would be assassin” and “domestic terrorist looking to massacre law enforcement.” Those are lies, meant to gaslight the American people. That should concern everyone, no matter your politics.
You can believe he acted wrong on January 13 and still believe his killing was unjustified. Those two things can exist at the same time. Accountability for citizens and accountability for government must go hand in hand, or freedom collapses.
This is not about left versus right. It is not about party, agency, or ideology.
It is about whether we still believe in the Constitution, due process, and the rule of law.
We need to stand united as Americans who believe that no one is above the law and no one is beneath its protection.
@AndrewTWalker Or maybe Federal agents could refrain from murdering people who are just expressing their first amendment rights. Did you watch the videos? He was not impeding them at all. Even if he was, it shouldn't have been a death sentence.
Fellow Southern Baptists, despite what spokespersons (official or otherwise) of our convention might suggest, right-wing totalitarianism is not inherent to a Christian worldview.
It doesn’t make you a lib to be disgusted to see a man get murdered for practicing his first and second amendment rights. Blindly defending ICE because Trump and his administration tells you to makes you the opposite of a patriot and is as anti-American as it gets.
1/12
Frame by frame breakdown of this MURDER shows ICE is lying!
-ICE had ALREADY disarmed the man before shooting.
-The man NEVER drew his gun.
At the 0:06 second mark we see the man’s hands on the ground covered in large gloves.
His hands are empty.
I'm increasingly convinced the key to understanding our political moment is recognizing that the Trump administration is staffed with people who share his addiction to theater, rather than policy. They want to look "tough" on TV, they want to scare their enemies, they are far less interested in policies and outcomes.
Greenland is a perfect example. There is a pathway by which we use diplomacy to make a case for buying it, something many foreign policy hawks have talked about for years. But the addiction to theater means the whole conversation has been marked by bluster and stupidity.
The expansion of ICE into a force of masked thugs is another. As is the social media campaigns of various agencies that mimic fascist language and imagery from the early 20th century. The point isn't policy — it's image-making.
And the biggest problem with all of it is it's utter irresponsibility. It's permission-giving to amoral people to embrace language and actions that are violent and deeply unAmerican. This will all end badly, I'm certain.
The US Dept of Labor wants us to know that America is “one people,” with one common heritage. And from the pics in the bg, that “people” and “heritage” is white.
The Dept of Labor. Working for the white people.
What the heck.
