@nic_lucc@ChristianityOn Can confirm that their tunicles generally have one bar except for random sets that are weird. Same way there’s not really a real rubric whether the SD wears a maniple, if the set has 3 then the SD wears it, if it’s only got 2 then guess not 🤷🏻♀️
@ChristianityOn I don’t think I have a very wild imagination but look at me making things up?
(Also thrilled to see TWO women doing this - there are dozen(s) of us!)
@AmishCatholic At first I was ew modern but actually I’ve been appreciating this and finding it very moving. The waves and the crosses like grave markers, the white for the resurrection and the innocents.
🕯️ THE NATIVITY OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST 🕯️
From the womb of my mother the Lord hath called me by my name: and hath made my mouth as it were a sharp sword: beneath the shadow of his hand hath he hidden me, and hath made me like to a polished arrow.
@FaraiUnVers@benjamindcrosby I also think many such people do not recognize heresy (or objective truth for the purposes of doctrine) to be a thing at all - so all things are in fact merely relative aesthetic preferences.
@benjamindcrosby@parvizbd This reminds me how this is the prime example and logical conclusion of what you first described as the CPE-ification of the priesthood and the Church. Such an excellent phrase and apt description.
@benjamindcrosby@parvizbd It’s the notion of the primacy of one’s individual conscience (which sure) while entirely dropping the part about the role of the Church in the formation of conscience that gets me. We’ve completely abdicated from the teaching office of the Church.
