Check out the whole thread! The workshop and its outcomes have been two years, 175 pages of notes, and countless meeting hours in the making. It's such a joy to finally share these insightful, aspirational, achievable visions for a future Vancouver!
What would a future Vancouver look like if it better supported people and nature?
IRES grad students & @UBCGradSchool Public Scholars @jofitzgib@DL_Forrest@dana_n_johnson partnered with @greenestcity & 16 ecological knowledge-holders to create these visions:

Today we launched Vancouver's first floating habitat into Trout Lake! As the system grows it will provide a flourishing habitat for plant and animal life. Read about the first step to bring more diversity to John Hendry Park at: https://t.co/e0G4qz9Z8X

When talking about our agendas for the day, I told my 5yo I was a little nervous about a meeting I have today. He said, “Mama, I am nervous all the time. I know what to do.” So friends, here is all the advice he could fit into the drive to school:
We are extremely disturbed to learn photo journalist @photobracken was arrested by the RCMP while she was documenting arrests in Wet'suwet'en territory today. RCMP are refusing to release Amber, in violation of her charter rights.
So very excited for my friend & former classmate @AshleyASalvador for her win in #WardMétis#YEG! I have no doubt she'll do incredible things for Edmonton.
I look forward to collaborating with community and my colleagues to move us forward towards a more equitable, sustainable, and urban future. Responsiveness matters. Communication matters. Listening to the diverse voices in our communities is an integral part of the job.
