Craziest third-place run in history?? 🤪
Jacob Kiplimo’s third marathon goes about as well as you could possibly imagine, as the half marathon world record holder also dips under Kelvin Kiptum’s 2023 marathon world record with a 2:00:28 run in London.
The only problem? He finished third overall, as Sabastian Sawe and Yomif Kejelcha became the first two men under two hours in an official race ahead of him. Still a mind-blowing run from the 25-year-old Ugandan.
Today, the Permanent Secretary of @MoICT_Ug, Dr. @azawedde, together with the Executive Director of @UgandaMediaCent, Mr. @kasujja, held an engagement with the Inter-Schools Coding Competition (@iscc_ug ) team at @innovationhubug.
The engagement focused on the importance of equipping young Ugandans with practical digital skills to drive innovation and national development.
Dr. @azawedde noted, “Digital transformation begins with equipping young people with skills such as coding, analysis, and problem-solving. These are now as essential as learning English and Mathematics.”
Through initiatives like ISCC, over 4,000 students from 120 schools have already been trained in Python programming, with plans to expand reach across the country.
