Imagínense esta noticia fuera en EEUU de Trump con Taylor Swift, o en Argentina de Milei con Lali, como estarían las feministas de todo el mundo.
Pero como es el régimen de mierda que defienden (junto a Palestina) cierran el orto.
I consider Dryden a friend, but:
No idea could ever come close to being as monumental as Christ’s birth, crucifixion, and resurrection. His humanity and divinity. Our salvation through Him.
This is The Idea.
Today’s pompous, futurist AI-cultists will, just like the last two millennia of Sadducees and pagans and renaissance men and ideologues, will claim that Christ is a particularly insightful instantiation of “The Good” or some such abstraction. However, they claim, it is “obviously” an anachronism for this or that reason.
Christianity is not part of the past, nor is it the defining characteristic of the future. He exists throughout eternity, outside of time, long before and after and beyond the tribulation of artificial intelligence.
It will blow your mind what love and reassurance will do for your woman. You should be the safest place in the world for her. The one person she knows will never leave her defeated and lonely.
I did not grow up watching my parents practise 50/50.
My dad once narrated to me how my mother carried the financial responsibility of the family at a time when he had no job. After their wedding, she paid 5 years' rent with her own money. She bought him a Peugeot 504 Evolution, his first car, and was patient until he learnt how to drive. She sponsored him through his https://t.co/JWyl546KXy. at UNIZIK.
My mother worked at USAID and earned very well. Dad had no job, but was never laid back.
And this was a woman who had rejected a marriage proposal from a German man who was completely in love with her. But she chose my father because she wanted a man she could build a new life with.
My dad even told me that, apart from the bride price he paid, my mother sponsored that elaborate wedding.
Yet, in the midst of these, she never weaponized any of these. Instead, she packaged her husband differently to her family until he found favour, and got his feet elevated around 1999.
Yet throughout that period, my mother submitted to her husband 💯. I never saw her spend money without his approval. The respect she gave her husband was extraordinary.
Those two people never had an argument or disagreement in my presence.
Now, that was the marriage I grew up watching.
I observed it. I internalised it. And I began to see marriage through that lens.
My mother eventually left USAID in 2005. Today, my father is the financial pillar of the entire family.
The Anambra man literally practises 100/0 till today. He will detonate a grenade on anyone that disrespects his wife or tries come between him and his wife.
There was this day my mom took me out on a date. While we were eating, she opened up to me about why she married my father.
She told me she saw a king in him, a man fighting to build a kingdom. She talked so grand and inspiring; I just sat there eating and listening.
So when he asked her out, she said yes because she knew that God had not blessed her with resources, networks, and opportunities so she could spend them on bags, shoes, wigs, vacations and hoeing around.
She said any woman who is not willing to become the primary resource that builds her man's empire, should have no business desiring marriage.
I did not understand this as a woman becoming inferior to her man, or disappearing for her man to be seen. I understand as purpose.
People need to recognize that marriage is not two people sharing bills. It is two people building something that neither of them could have built alone.
This is why I find some of the things I read from both men and women on this app about relationships and marriage extremely wack and strange. Some of the takes sound more like foolishness acquired from life and more like people designing theories around their fears, insecurities and unresolved childhood experiences.
This is why my mother would never tolerate just any woman around me.
In fact, the woman who eventually disappointed me was someone my mother had warned me about.
And this is where my disagreement with the obsession over 50/50 begins.
I believe 50/50 people are trying to turn marriage into some accounting system where each partner must bring in half of their income for the marriage equation to balance. That's nonsense if you ask me.
In marriage, you may start with 100/0, and move to 100/50. Then, eventually, with growth, stability, opportunity and shared responsibility, you move to 100/100.
There may even be seasons where the percentages change completely. No successful marriage started on 50/50.
My point is not that one spouse must permanently carry the other.
My point is that marriage should have enough trust, vision and commitment for one person to carry more when the other cannot, without turning that sacrifice into a debt.
“Chesterton had written it as early as 1908: the modern world is full of old Christian virtues gone mad, because they've been separated from one another. Scientists who love only truth, and whose truth is pitiless. Humanitarians who love only pity, and whose pity is often dishonest.
Wokism is exactly that. Girard had seen it coming in 1999: concern for victims is the supreme Christian inheritance, and the new totalitarianism doesn't fight it - it claims it as its own, until it turns it into a permanent inquisition. It kept the victim and threw out everything else. Compassion without truth. Sin without forgiveness. Confession without absolution.”
The west needs its faith to thrive; these crowds in France are optimistic.
The more I study the world, the more I worry everything will be K-shaped going forward.
Assets and asset holders will become richer while those living paycheck to paycheck continue losing purchasing power.
Smart people will use AI to do amazing things while the rest of humanity atrophies their brains doomscrolling and can’t even do basic math anymore.
Good houses and good cities will continue rising in value and importance while the long tail gets looked over.
I'm seeing this everywhere I look.
I'm not sure how this gets reversed anymore. If anything, it feels like it will speed up.
There is a brief window right now to make sure you are on the top end of the K-curve before it's too late.
Please for the sake of your bloodline.
Don't get left behind.
I’m strongly aligned with Peter here: this is a rare and intellectual form of courage.
Be willing to competently do good work that’s needed, but that others won’t because it is branded by default as evil by the NPC’s, despite being hugely positive for our society. 🧵
Personally? Oh man.
This is just a tweak on Peter’s question which most of you know:
“What is something you feel is good and needs to be done, but on which almost no institution agrees with you and will fight to destroy you with their full force at a deeply personal level?”
Where to begin??
Undermining faith in Anthony Fauci’s and Francis Collins’ scientific behavior during a pandemic.
Calling attention to the fact that the president of the United States with launch code responsibility was obviously demented during his presidency.
Opposing high levels of immigration for completley non-xenophobic reasons.
Openly discussing asymmetries in patterns of religious martyrdom attacks.
Fighting the loss of the word “Genocide” via coordinated social campaigns.
Pointing out that the history of Peer Review is retconned and fictitious and obviously false.
Fighting irreversible surgeries pushed on children leading to a reproductive holocaust.
Calling for an end to Diverisity-Equity-Inclusion and opposing “Black Lives Matter”, despite their branding genius, even during the Summer of Floyd.
Pointing out that conspiracies are well documented and ubiquitous and fighting for responsible conspiracy theorizing.
Promoting my own technical work and insisting that scientists get paid handsomely.
Etc. Etc.
You’re asking the wrong person. It seems I stand up for what I believe is deeply good and what is misperceived as evil all day, every day. This has stupidly become close to my whole life at times. I’m so bored by how silent everyone is. I can’t fathom it. “Managed Reality” has turned evil.
Something is pushing pure evil, disguised as “good” down our throats 24/7 via the institutions. And almost everyone puts up with it. I do not.
But: Thanks for the question.
A great one!
At the airport, watching a dad with his probably seven-month-old. He has her in the air, shifting her around mechanically, like a robot. She’s kicking her legs and squealing.
Mom comes back from the bathroom and immediately straps the baby to her chest. She leans in and snuggles.
Nobody tells Dad to engage in stimulating play with his child. Nobody tells Mom to pull her close and soothe her.
They interact with the same child differently because men and women are different.
Children don't need two adults tossing them in the air. They don't need two parents soothing and comforting them. All stimulation and no security leaves them unmoored; all comfort and no challenge leaves them afraid to venture out.
Children need one parent who promotes attachment and one parent who promotes independence.
Children need a mother and a father.
A culture that treats either one as optional asks children to go without so adults can feel affirmed.
Okay. I’ll take the bait.
I went to work for Peter in 2013 with opposite politics.
He sat me down right at the beginning.
PETER: “I don’t want the (Thiel) Foundation to do good that the market can do. That is the job of the market. Likewise, I don’t want to do the good work that is seen as good. That work can be done by people richer, weaker and more needy of approval than we are. I want us to do only the work that is *deeply* good but somehow confused for being evil, because that is the work of the courageous and the strong. We strive to be both and that is where a small foundation can make the greatest positive difference. Go look for such good and let’s do that. But remember. Good has TWO different antonyms. What is “bad work”? It could be seen as shoddy work. Or it could be seen as evil work. And we can’t do shoddy work. Why? Because evil that isn’t competent never gets to be evil. It’s just pathetic. So we have to be exceptionally competent at the good work which we do to make sure it is always confused for evil.”
I thought it totally logical. So that’s the argument. And that’s classic Peter.
This is an old idea of his. And now you know.
i’ve been back home for a few days, in the tiny italian town where i grew up. maybe 6,000 people.
yesterday i saw some old school friends i hadn’t seen in years and it was genuinely fascinating how little their lives have changed.
most people here don’t go to university. they finish school and start working right away.
then that’s kind of their life.
wake up, work as an electrician or mechanic, come home, watch football, beer with friends on friday. work all year, save enough money for a week of vacation in august, come back and repeat.
most have basically no idea what AI is. all the things that feel world-changing to me and to the timeline barely enter their lives at all.
when i start talking about AI, self-driving cars, robots, rockets, all the things i’m insanely excited about, they mostly just scoff. completely uninterested.
and i don’t even mean any of this as an insult. a lot of them seem perfectly fine with their lives.
that’s what makes it so strange.
their lives now feel completely foreign to mine, while also being incredibly familiar.
we grew up in the same town, went to the same schools, knew the same people. our families and childhoods weren’t that different.
if i had made a couple different choices when i was 14 or 15, there’s a very real chance that would have been my life too.
sometimes you go home and realize just how many completely different versions of your life were only a few decisions away.
One underrated reason women have collectively gone insane is smaller families and large generation gaps have gutted the familial support that was once essential for motherhood.
The lone geriatric grandmother is an entirely new invention.
But that's what ~30-year gaps lead to.
