Hunter Dekkers placed bets on games that he was involved in and got banned from all NCAA athletics
Sorsby did the same thing and got a 2 game suspension
Don't let anyone tell you this is actually good.
Its for money & more access for power conference teams while the decision makers frame it as "more access for everyone" - that is a lie.
Really is a shame they insist on changing the best postseason tournament in American sports
What’s funny about this (tired and inaccurate) argument is it ALWAYS comes from stick and ball “analysts” or “experts” who have spent zero time around the sport.
Athleticism is a spectrum like anything else. Anyone who says this is telling on themselves as ignorant at best.
I understand the panic about the Milan Momcilovic situation, let me explain my perspective.
This isn’t Momcilovic “bag chasing.” Milan and Otzelberger have been weighing the options on what’s best for both parties. This situation is happening because of the timeline.
Iowa State had two avenues:
1. Wait on Momcilovic’s pro decision. If he came back, that’d be great for Iowa State. If he didn’t, they’d be in big trouble with a massive hole on the roster (ie 2022-23). At that point T.J. Otzelberger would be gambling that he could find a couple players that fit what he needed in Early may. That’s a big gamble.
2. Mutually part ways. If Milan couldn’t commit to coming back right now, then it’s safer for Iowa State to allocate those resources elsewhere. Otzelberger knew this was a possibility and had a plan for this. There’s a very good chance that Iowa State’s roster for 2026-27 is completed tonight. I believe that Iowa State’s portal class was built with the thought that Momcilovic wouldn’t be on the team next year. T.J. Otzelberger knows what players fit his program and it’s a lot easier to find those players in mid-April than it is mid-May. It's risk management.
Iowa State obviously went with option two. As tough as it is for both parties to move on, it really was the best option for both sides. In a perfect world, Momcilovic would have all of the feedback he needs on April 12. Unfortunately that’s not how it works. It wouldn’t be fair to Otzelberger, the staff and the returners to have the risk of an incomplete team. Milan gave so much to the program. Not every transfer decision resembles the brokenness of college spots. This one is a backup for Momcilovic if he doesn’t get the feedback he expects. It’s a necessity.
Should Iowa State have wanted Milan back? Absolutely. He’s the best shooter in America and will be highly sought after whether he stays in the draft or not. You can disagree with Otzelberger’s way of going about it. Sure, he could've taken the risk. There’s an argument to be made either way. But I’d highly recommend trusting the coach who has led Iowa State to the best five year stretch in program history. Momcilovic’s shooting can’t be replaced but Otzelberger can absolutely still put together a great team without him.
Fans can rest knowing Otz has a plan for every scenario.
My two cents.

🥇It was an honor to compete for my country on the world stage.🇺🇸 I traveled to Cortina with a focus on competing my best and representing the U.S. with integrity. Sport has a beautiful way of uniting people & these Olympics did just that! Thx for the support and love…
If you rush the court/field and get into the face of a player or coach this response is justified imo. Been in this spot a few times (before camera phones). You’re just trying to finish shaking hands or getting off the field and drunk college students are running directly at you trying to bait you.
This is simple. High school players like Darryn Peterson should be able to go right to NBA. Players who attend NCAA schools & leave for professional sports at any level should be ineligible to return. International players who play at the highest levels in Europe and are over a certain age should be ineligible for the NCAA. Let’s make college basketball what it has always been—semi professional.
shoutout! PTI (Pardon the Interruption) always brings attention to the big moments in sports, and it’s awesome they consistently show love to “the run.” Go @CycloneATH
Hating the Brewers is so fake and manufactured. Smallest market in pro sports, no championships, no bad people on their team, mostly young guys and journeymen, and a fan base that just wants to drink beer and cheer for their team.
It’s completely faux hate.
