UPDATE: We’re on the plane to Buffalo!!! American Airlines was incredibly helpful and made it possible for us to get on this flight. A special thank you to @JJWatt for organizing it while we were in the air to Dallas. Big thanks as well to everyone else who offered their help.🙏
Almost every US citizen - and many others - uses a federal government service each year. AI creates a huge opportunity to help improve those experiences, while also lifting the administrative burden on government employees.
GPT-5.5 Instant is now on par with our frontier Thinking models for health-related questions.
Every week, more than 230 million people turn to ChatGPT with health and wellness questions, and GPT-5.5 Instant is better at recognizing when urgent care may be needed, asking for relevant context, explaining uncertainty, and making complex information easier to understand.
Because GPT-5.5 Instant is available to all free users in ChatGPT, these improvements can help more people.
Physician-led evaluation was critical to making these major intelligence gains.
Together with researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard, we published a study in NEJM AI showing how o3 Deep Research helped clinicians revisit previously unsolved rare pediatric disease cases, and find answers for families who had waited years.
🤖Excited to share a new working paper.🤖
The phrase "AI-Native firms" it everywhere, but are they any different? Is it just hype?
In our new paper we show AI ventures are organized differently, but not for the reasons you think.
Spent last week at @RockefellerFdn Bellagio with leaders from government, technology, and philanthropy, on human-centered government in the age of AI. The line that survived every argument: the system, not the person, should carry the burden of complexity. Everything else — speed, agents, digital twins, policy simulation — is in service of that.
We've opened applications for a new $50M commitment to:

USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving.
Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free.
I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these."
"They just come with the table, man."
They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner.
This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat.
I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared.
"Did we…?"
"Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless."
Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined.
My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude."
Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man.
I was not hungry. I was not comfortable. I had been defeated by a courtesy.
Generosity that arrives before the request cannot be repaid. It can only be survived.
I know the rule now. I have made my peace with the basket. One basket. Two at the most.
Who am I deceiving. There is no number of baskets I would refuse. The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it.
Imagine you spent years building up something that works, you get the majority of doctors to use it, and then the frontier AI labs come along and crush it. I feel like this story is going to be common in all fields and industries over time.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

When Don told us that Ray-Ban Meta glasses gave him his independence back, we knew we had to help every blind veteran in America do the same.
In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, we’re humbled to share that in partnership with the @BlindedVeterans, @Tunnel2Towers, @HomesForOurTrps, and many others, we’re giving @Meta glasses to the blind veterans who have sacrificed for our country. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
