Ted Williams said, “The hardest thing to do in baseball is to hit a round ball with a round bat, squarely.” In the movie, “For The Love of the Game”, Vin Scully quipped, “Tonight, he will make the fateful walk to the loneliest spot in the world, the pitching mound at Yankee Stadium.” 

The proper physical mechanics of doing either are vital to peak performance but elite mental maturity is what will keep you there.

“Inside The Diamond” by my friend Coach @KyleWatson_22 of @UCWV_Baseball and fellow author Coach @kevin_savage might be new to the younger athlete but surely can act as a refresher to the more veteran ball player. And for the eager parent that wishes the greatest levels of success for their child, it can be an eye-opening read that uncovers what is not taught in stereotypical pitching or hitting lessons.
