Post what your audience wants to hear, Steven Pressfield captures this too well.
"What have you and I been put on this Earth to do? Is it not the creation of the ‘inauthentic’ that is purposefully crafted, in order to deliver to others the gift and simulacrum of authenticity. That’s why they call it Art, and why, in some crazy way, it’s realer than real and truer than true."
The number of the car's speedometer isn't always an indication of how fast you're getting to where you're going
You might, after all, be driving in circles, really quickly.
We can do better.
For over a hundred years we had an agreement with the industrial society. The bargain was this; The world was built around factories, factories that produced cars, music, telephones, houses, movies, insurance, elderly care and so forth. These factories needed workers. If you became a worker, studied hard, followed the manual, showed up in time, and tried your best, we rewarded you!
But this arrangement is unraveling because of automation, outsourcing, competition in the market and globalization. This pushes every corporation to break down all tasks to thier simplest components, making it easy to perform by anyone just following a manual. You want effective cogs, that are cheap, reliable and replaceable. This productivity leads to greater margins and profit for the corporations.
Every company in the market stand next to another in a fiercely competive marketplace. You need to build scalable organizations and solutions to make your products the cheapest. This requires that the company have procedures and manuals for every task, which allows cheap labor. Hence, the humanity, and personal connection needs to be eradicated to make production as effective as possible.
All the best,
John

Plumbers do plumbing
Plumbers fix pipes, construction workers build, teachers teach. Writers, musicians, poets, entreprenuer fail or decides to fail. Writers should write, musicians should musicate (is that a word?), entrepreneurs should have problems. Instead this type of creative people seem to hide behind not having the discipline, motiviation, inspiration or flow to do their work.
Tik tok and instagram are feminine, and the most active users are women. It’s way more receptive, the algorithm just feeds information at a killing spree. On the other hand, youtube is masculine, longer videos and there’s a hunt to find videos that are valuable. Not just entertainment, men want infotainment.
It's always fascinated me how some people go out of their way to pursue a dream. Sure, there are countless success stories that inspire us, but there are also many who never quite reach their goals. I often wonder: did those people not try hard enough, not show up consistently, or not dedicate themselves fully to their craft? Or was it something beyond their control—something fatalistic, where the odds were stacked against them from the start?
Perhaps some of them didn’t truly "lose," at least not to themselves. Maybe the act of chasing their dream was the victory, the point of it all. The journey, the practice—it mattered more than the outcome.
One of my favorite lines from stand-up comedian Bill Burr @billburr is: “There’s no way you lose when you go after a dream. You don’t. It always leads to something better, always.” Because you never regret it. When you chase a dream with purpose, with intent, it always feels worthwhile.
All the best,
John

Same thing with being a freelancer or having an agency. You wake up at seven o'clock you solve you problems for customers, you manage your people, you understand and do your service from morning till noon. Then you take lunch, then you solve your problem for customers till 4 or 5 in the afternoon. You don't do anything else, you should have problems.
This thought stuck with me yesterday before going to bed, and I wrote it down on a paper towel; There’s so much information in our age, an amount that gives endless possibilities. Imagine the amount of things you can learn, all the skills. Head on youtube to learn guitar, reddit for some really specific problems or chatGPT for almost any use. I’m fascinated by what this ocean of information could contribute to a greater artistic society. If more people decided to serve their craft. Think about all the people out there doing art, Seth Godin and Zig Ziglar. There's a true possibility to make a wonderful creative world. More music such as Jimi Hendrix or The Beatles. It’s too easy to scroll and not to create, let’s change that. We are children of the internet age, born with endless abilities and forged to create

Are you educated and have a nice certificate or title? If you’re a PhD, you are smart. But are you wise? Are you a philosopher? Do you love wisdom? Are you truly alive, living your best, doing your best to serve humanity, or simply a cog in the machinery we call society? Commit to a practice, that might not work, and serve to create.
All the best,
John
