@ShackersGolf @SkySportsGolf I could not agree more Shackers, often less is more and clubs (in particular those with 'classic' courses) should think carefully rather than simply following the latest trend.
@penandniblick I bought these books years ago and have re-read them many times. McIlvanney was both a brilliant observer and author and his love of sport shines through in every word. The chapters on Ali's early career are joyous, the articles on his decline are tinged with sadness.
@WW2Airfields 21 Squadron - my uncle Sgt W V Fillingham flew in Blenheims from Watton, Bill was shot down and killed whilst on an anti-shipping raid over Heligoland on 15th May 1941, he was 21 years old.
@joemmcdonne11@AlnmouthVillage I've played Alnmouth Village dozens of times and it's fantastic fun. A great holiday golf course, we stay in the village and I walk to the course carrying a half set and I'm back at the cottage we rent in 90 minutes. Aim left off the tee and you can't go too far wrong.
