Just had a phone call from a Catholic priest in Whitehaven thanking me for campaigning for the Woodhouse coking coal mine. He had been brought up in the area and was now the priest. Interesting how people who know the area support the mine and those who aren’t sometimes don’t.🤨
@James4WandL I am supporting James Airey
not Tim Farron on opening #Woodhouse mine. As I have said there is no economic, environmental, social or moral case for opposing the mine. Let us make sure when it goes back to Cumbria CC there is a 100% vote in favour of doing that!
@ITVborder There is not one iota of a scientific, economic, environmental, social or moral case for not allowing Woodhouse or closing Newton Rigg. But that applies to Brexit, religion,Trump and countless other issues. The world is not fair, truthful or sensible. Just do your best.
@RogerMerry1@MikeBernersLee And the moral responsibility for preventing the creation of 1550 jobs and apprentices, the investment of £100,000,000 pa in the local community? Planting 1,000s of trees, opening up a mining museum etc
@Strawbugs@MikeBernersLee You have not read the facts in the economic and scientific reports. Woodhouse will be environmentally neutral by 2050 and will have created 1550 extra jobs and apprentices. Stopping it opening will not reduce the output of greenhouse gases by one iota across the world.
@ebcripps@MikeBernersLee This is simply not based on fact. Have you visited the mine? Raised your concerns with the mine manager? Asked any of the local councillors or the MP. Worked out the benefit to the local community from 1550 extra jobs and £100,000,000 pa investment for 50 years?
